Favorite Series?

DS9 will always be my top choice. I found the stories and connections to be profound. And I liked the fact things weren't so upbeat and there was conflicts. My favorite would be "Far Beyond the Stars".

TNG is a close second. I grew up on it and the crew was very family like. "Best of Both Worlds" is the best TNG episode ever.

TOS- The first and the best

DS9- The best ensemble. A worthy attempt at serial story telling.

ENT- Underrated in my opinion. A little too fan wanky towards the end

TNG- Three to four good seasons book ended by mediocracy

VOY- Gave up half way through.

1. TOS
1.A. DS9
3. ENT
4. TNG
5. VOY

Wow, Nerys, I didn't think anyone would see it the same way as I do.

I'm surprised if Moore really said that about Voyager. This is a guy that wrote for Picard, Data, Odo, and Quark. Though they did do wonders with the Doctor and Seven later in the series.

I feel like Voyager set up some great characters in the pilot then only realized a handful of them.

Don't get me wrong, I would put the Doctor and Seven right at the top of the second tier of Star Trek characters. :)

That's par for the course when speaking of any Star Trek show.

Undoubtedly, for me, The Next Generation. Having been the first series that I watched, I can always sit down with any odd episode and enjoy it. I can't say the same for any of the other shows, to be honest.

Voyager was the first series that i got into but by the time enterprise came round I'd watched them all. I like them all for different reasons though TOS is the hardest for me to watch.

Yes, he really did. The source is

Moore does have praise for some things about VOYAGER, however.[...] You can make arguments on creative decisions, but technically, the way the show is actually produced and put on the air is stellar.
It’s a big, beautiful show that isn’t doing anything with all this beauty. It goes for the actors as well. I’ve maintained from day one that the VOYAGER cast overall was probably the best cast of all of them. You really had a strong group of players that could really take the show someplace. I loved the other two casts that I worked with, but I looked at the VOYAGER cast and thought, ‘These group of players all really like each other, and they are all going to have fun together on the set. They are all willing to try anything that you give to them.’ I found that in the brief time I was working with them, too; they will do anything for you. They work very hard; they take a lot of pride in their craft. Do something with them!
It’s just such a wasted opportunity. It angers me because of the waste of it all.

first couple seasons of ENT (haven't watched the rest)

Definitely watch seasons 3 & 4 (minus the series finale)! And let us know what you think when you do in the ENT forum! :)

Thanks for the invite, but there's a reason I've chosen not to watch 3 & 4: too much violence for my PTSD to handle.

ENT ... My favorite character is, easily, Dr. Phlox.

:bolian: I hear so many complaints about him, I was beginning to think I was the only one who loves him!

Star Trek, of course - isn't that why they call it TOS . . . The Only Series.
I do enjoy the Animated Series as well. A few great episodes there and more than a few more good ones.

ME

I really have a hard time answering this question.

My "favorite" series is pretty much the series I'm currently watching.

It's DS9 right now :techman:

Deep space nine is easily my favourite. I also enjoyed Enterprise a lot and find Voyager the most difficult series to enjoy.

When I last re-watched the entire franchise over the past year or so, I gave every episode a letter grade, with each letter grade assigned a numerical value as shown below:

A (4.0), A- (3.7)
B+ (3.4), B (3.0), B- (2.7)
C+ (2.4), C (2.0), C- (1.7)
D+ (1.4), D (1.0), D- (0.7)
F (0.0)

With grades assigned to every episode, each series averaged out as follows:

1) TOS - 2.854
2) TNG - 2.848
3) DS9 - 2.843
4) ENT - 2.825
5) VOY - 2.817
6) TAS - 2.305

And for extra credit, here's how each individual season ranked:
01) TOS 1 - 3.14
02) TNG 3 - 3.13
03) TNG 4 - 3.13
04) DS9 5 - 3.09
05) ENT 4 - 3.07
06) TNG 5 - 3.06
07) DS9 4 - 3.03
08) TNG 6 - 3.01
09) TOS 2 - 2.97
10) ENT 3 - 2.96
11) VOY 4 - 2.94
12) DS9 6 - 2.91
13) VOY 5 - 2.90
14) DS9 7 - 2.87
15) VOY 6 - 2.87
16) VOY 7 - 2.80
17) DS9 3 - 2.75
18) VOY 3 - 2.75
19) DS9 2 - 2.73
20) VOY 2 - 2.72
21) VOY 1 - 2.70
22) ENT 2 - 2.65
23) ENT 1 - 2.65
24) TNG 7 - 2.59
25) TNG 2 - 2.54
26) DS9 1 - 2.42
27) TNG 1 - 2.38
28) TOS 3 - 2.38
29) TAS - 2.30 (whole series)

Its gotta be the Next Generation, first one i watched and always seems "homely"?
For a while DS9 was second but Voyager pips it to the post lately.

Deep Space Nine.

I started out a TOS fan back in 1984. I was 4 at the time, and my mom got me watching. When TNG premiered in 1987, I was onboard, and eventually became a big TNG fan. DS9 came out in 1993, and I watched a few episodes, but wasn't anywhere near hooked. The same with VOY when it premiered. I watched the pilot, and a few episodes after that, but essentially ignored it. This would also go for ENT when it premiered. Somewhere around that time, I received a whole box full of Star Trek VHS tapes from a friend, and I watched them. ALL of them. It was the first time I watched DS9 all the way through, and I was hooked on each episode. I couldn't stop watching.

A year or so back, I did another DS9 rewatch, but thanks to Netflix instead of old VHS tapes, and it still stands as my favorite series overall, with TNG and TOS tied a close second. Following those is ENT, then TAS, and VOY is last.

Niner for life.
