Favorite "Secondary" Enterprise Locale... and Why

Aside from the most frequently seen locales within the Enterprise, such as the bridge, engine room, and sickbay, what is your favorite location within the ship, and why?

Mine is probably the observation deck from "The Conscience of the King." I like the cross-sectional shape of the passage, the exterior windows, the windows overlooking the hangar deck, and the lighting.

Auxiliary Control just liked the way it is set up... still functional for controlling the ship yet with a different layout from the bridge.

This has to be my pet set: Soooo necessary for the health of the crew - and sooo under-used in the series: The large rec-room.

At this excellent source, you see how it would have looked on screen.
Here and here you can see how it was actually shown, as well as here.

Either Kirk's or Spock's quarters. I guess it's a guy thing, but it would seem to be a cool bachelor pad. If you prefer more normal human male decorating, you'd choose Kirk's. If you go for more exotic knicknacks, you go for Spock's.

Auxiliary control and the Emergency Manual Monitor are great sets, too!

And yes, a larger rec room would have been cool to see. I also like the never-built, personal rec/com rooms described in The Making of Star Trek. Those facilities found their way into Franz Joseph's blueprints as "visicoms."

Well, it's not mentioned -- but is implied -- in the O.P., but I think the transporter room is one of the coolest sets aside from the bridge and engine room. I do prefer how in the newer ST series, there is definitely more than one transporter room, as it was often referred to as "the" transporter room in TOS, implying there is just one room. The area where Khan put Kirk into the medical decompression chamber was always interesting to me. -- RR

I thought I was clear in my original post, but I can see now that I wasn't. By "most frequently seen" sets, I'm referring to the standing sets. To me this includes the transporter room and crew cabins. I didn't want to list all of them.

I'm curious about people's favorite sets that appeared very infrequently.

Totally my first thought. Seemed like a great hang-out. You sit there playing your 3d Chess or Double Fanucci, sipping on your tribble coffee and eating your tribble sandwich, and if you're lucky, Uhura and Spock jam for you.

Edit: Actually, I was just thinking about the wardroom which we saw a lot of in the series.
