Favorite Scene (spoilers)

is this thread spoiler-protected? see below:

when Spock loses his mother -- the look on both their faces when they realize that there's no hope... and then after he materializes on the enterprise without her -- his face... I totally lost it then.

I also loved the goodbye scene between George and Winona Kirk. very emotional.

Character: Sulu samurai scene. I just loved this scene, after Sulu gets that look from Kirk when he says his combat training is in fencing, and then to see him kick ass was wonderful. I would pay full admission again to see that scene.

Ship: Enterprise coming up out of the mist around Saturn.

Runners up are McCoy hypospraying Kirk all over the place, and the initial shots of the Kelvin.

The opening sequence, especially when George is talking to Kirk's mom as he's about to die... only Trek movie scene to ever get me to tear up a little bit, and these were characters that we had only known for 10 minutes!

Kirk's confrontation with Spock on the bridge was pretty good too.

Oh dear...I have a 4 month old son and the sequence with George Kirk over the comm while baby Jim is born...and the sound effects cut out as the Kelvin is ramming the Narada...I nearly lost it... :)

This man speaks the truth.

Our boy is 15 months and our daughter is 4.5 years old, and that scene hit me like a punch in the chest.

Joe, daddy

Sarek telling Spock he loved Amanda.

The James T. Kirk birth scene. I almost cried.

Spock giving the "F.U." to the Vulcan Science Academy. "Live long and prosper" indeed!

Uhura demanding that Spock put her on the Enterprise.

Chekov and the scene where his ID wasn't being recognized.

The end when they kill Nero.

"So surrender your ship and we'll help save your crew."

"But I don't want to save him."

"Neither do I. But regulations and stuff."

"I would rather die!"

"Cool. Blow him away."

I liked the Uhura/Spock scene in the elevator. It was full of gushy awesomeness.

This may be a little twisted, but I loved the "red shirt" moment.

And I agree the Spock and Uhura scenes were well done.

The two scenes with Sarek and Spock (the hallway on Vulcan and in the transporter room).

I saw the movie three times on Thursday. You are right theses scenes stand out, especially when Sarek says " I married her because I loved her."

I am a big fan of the car scene, too. Didn´t like it the first time. But now I think it establishes Kirk in a great way.

I couldn't pick just one, really. The entire opening sequence was amazing. The birth scene/last words between Kirk's parents really got to me - yes, I cried for characters we'd seen for only minutes - it was that good.

I think the bar fight scene with the drunk Kirk was seriously funny - although I admit to a predisposition to seeing male characters I like all battered and bruised. ;) The fight scene between Kirk and Spock was good as well, but there I enjoyed the emotional tension surrounding it and the nerve pinch.

I loved when Spock turned down the academy. And the Uhura/Spock scenes were good, too, especially after the death of his mother. Well done.

I'll see it again on Mother's Day, and I'm sure I figure out more favs then.

The entire Kelvin sequence was amazing. Not only was it my favorite part of the movie, but the only part that actually "felt" like Star Trek.

I dunno about a scene, but I can think of a favorite shot:

Soon after the Enterprise warps to Vulcan, and they're flying through all that wreckage. Some seconds into this, there's a long shot where you see the entire Enterprise ascending vertically through the debris. For some reason that shot was awesome.

The biggest single thrill was the arrival of the Enterprise, guns a-blazin', during the climactic battle.

As already mentioned, George Kirk listening to his son being born as he was about to die (ya, I had tears), every scene that Leonard Nimoy had, esp. with Kirk, and the intro to Scotty

Any shot of the Enterprise. Even the reveal, which is where that infamous first shot we got of the nuEnterprise came from. I think she's absolutely beautiful, from every angle.

The Opening is not only one of the best moments in Star Trek history, but may be one of the best opening scenes in any science-fiction or action film. The chaos of battle is amazing, but the emotional beats are phenomenal, and these are characters we've never seen before, and are only there for the first five minutes or so. But you FEEL for George and Winona Kirk, and the moment that their son starts to cry is heartwrenching, as is Kirk's death. Its as if we've lived with these characters for a whole movie, and its only the first scene! Stunning.

Favorite character scene: Probably the opening scene, but the film is chock full of them.

Favorite Starship scene: TIE: Enterprise Reveal/Enterprise arrives at Titan/Enterprise Warps Away from Earth.

My favorite two scenes were Kirk and Old Spock meeting and melding and Young Spock and Old Spock's conversation at the end. Also seeing Kirk and Spock standing next to each other on the bridge with Nero on the viewscreen was pretty incredible.

For action: The Enterprise dropping out of warp, blasting away at the missles to save spock. Second runner up: George Kirk taking command and fending off the Narada so the shuttles could escape.

For comedy: Uhura/Kirk bar scene. "It means you have a talented tongue."
The Wictor Wictor scene seemed a little to forced. Whatching chekov deal with his accent was one thing, but this new one was way over the top in my opinion. Also in comedy for me, when they found Scotty and that little alien dude.

For dramatic effect. Spock loosing his mother. Spock and Sareks "I loved your mother" scene. And the car going over the cliff... that one really brought a tear to my eye...

Simply too many to choose. The whole Kelvin scene, especially when the hull breaches and the chick gets sucked into space, when the Enterprise pulls up through Saturns rings, anything with Spock Prime in it.

Really the only scene I DIDNT like was when Vulcan bit the dust, and that's more because it was just so shocking and sad. It was the first time I've watched Trek and kept on hoping for a reset button.
