I'm a Rowlf man myself, through and through. One of my favorite albums is "Ol' Brown Ears Is Back", which has Rowlf singing some great classics as well as some great Rowlf originals as well ("You And I And George", anyone?). Closely followed by Beaker and the Swedish Chef.

^ The Danny Boy sketch is hilarious. Animal is just hysterical, especially when he is looking for him at the end while the others are crying. But one of my favorites is Mahna Mahna.

And I loooooooooove The Muppet Show. I actually watched it on television (first run) in the 70's! But like Emh I also bought the third season of the show and have been laughing my ass off. Actually I have now watched the whole set twice and thinking about going for a third. Oh and the Gilda Radner show is one of my favorite episodes so the third season is rather special for me.

But my favorite characters... oh that is a tough one. I voted for Statler and Waldorf of course. They are my all time favorites. The other four were extremely tough to pick but I settled on Beaker, The Swedish Chef, Miss Piggy and Gonzo. I wish I could have had a sixth so I could have voted for Janice. I have always loved her voice. I also love Camilla the Chicken too.

Actually it's Sisko's uniform, in the Captain's chair of the Defiant. And I still am.

My favorite is Fozzie, though Waldorf and Statler are hot on his heals. All three of them in combination is, of course, a winner!

Also, as far as Muppets go, I guess Janice is kinda hot.

Of course, I love them all. Well, most, anyway.

I loved the muppet show as I was growng up favorite momment was when gonzo did
the 1812 while firing cannon's into the crowd. and what no angel common.

If you held a gun to my head and I had to pick one, I'd say Piggy. That being said, my recollection of the show is that the funniest stuff was usually a group effort (and sometimes featured the bit players) so, really, they're all my favorite muppets.

Also, I voted for Kermit as one of my picks but that's because we're voting on the muppets on the show and, therefore, from the era of Jim Henson. Kermit without Henson is like Bugs Bunny without Mel Blanc. No matter how hard they try it just aint the real thing.

My top five would be Kermit, Piggy, Statler & Waldorf (counting them as one), Rowlf, and Animal. I like the Swedish Chef and Beaker a lot too, but like Animal, they're basically one joke characters. At least Animal doesn't always say the exact same thing, or to be more accurate, the same-sounding gibberish!

I have a soft spot for Rowlf because of that adorable and hilarious scene in "The Muppets Take Manhattan" where he's in the dog shelter and some guy who brings a pet there "humiliates" him by treating him more like a dog than a human (which all the Muppets act and seem like most of the time).

At first he's just offended and refuses to act like a dog. Then he feels homesick and can't help but howl along with the rest of the homesick pooches.

It's... really difficult. But I'll say, Animal, Janice, Rowlf, The Swedish Chef, and Sweetums. But the show is just chock full of memorable and funny characters.

Remarkably, the lead keeps changing, and yet, poor Lew Zealand still hasn't gotten any love.

Does anyone besides me remember that during the first few episodes of season one, that Janice had a really prominent pair of nipples under that tank top of hers? I'm guessing that they disappeared because of feedback from prudes (most likely Americans who weren't used to the less puritanical standards of British television).
