Favorite 'Lost' Characters | The Finale

John freaking Locke.
My favorite character was definitely Charlie.
After he was killed off, I lost all interest in the series.

Desmond? I like Desmond, but you could have blinked twice and missed all his appearances this season.
I'd probably say Desmond. I wept when Charlie died, but wept twice for Desmond. First time was when he finally got in touch with Penny in 'The Constant,' and then in 'There's No Place Like Home' when the two were reunited proper. So damn moving! Much better than all that Jack/Kate/Sawyer crap we'd had for four seasons. 
Then Ben, Locke, Sawyer and Sayid. These five are probably my top 5 characters, with Charlie floating around somewhere.

but he is the hero who has grown the most over the course of the show. His journey has had more emotional impact too

Of these choices, I voted Locke. Quite a polymorphic character if there ever was one, & truly tragic, in hindsight. However, my favorite has always been & will always be Hurley. Jack is too self pitying, Sawyer is too self confident, Sayid is too self loathing. Plus they and any of the others who might be the coolest are just too misguided
Hurley is the guiding light, the true heart of the show, absolutely the character most easily related to, of them all, always thinking and saying the thing we think and want said. He's very rarely ever showed a selfish side of himself ever, short of an obvious compensating eating disorder, & fear of losing people he cares about
The only time, in all the show, that I ever got choked up, & near tears was when he spoke at Libby's funeral
He is not, nor has he ever been mentally unstable. They are trying to pull the rope-a-dope on us, & I ain't biting

Not much to do with the current vote stalemate, but I totally agree with that - Hurley wasn't ever crazy. He's speshull.
This top 5, i think, is a good one...

Since Locke's gonna win anyway, I'm gonna vote for my man Sayid. Sawyer might have gotten my vote if he'd stopped getting all wussy and conflicted about Kate.
Is that really such a surprise? Aside from Sun, Juliet, and maybe a couple others, Lost's female characters haven't been all that great, overall.

Juliet's the only one who might deserve to make the finals and at least she made the semi's.

Kate's the only one apart from Juliet, in terms of time devoted to their story, who might have stood a chance, but she's still far from a fan favourite.
Sun's only motive for anything this year has been Jin. Claire's been missing for a year. Rose is good, but only pops up for 1 episode here and there. Penny is mostly just a goal and prize for Desmond. Hawking is a point A to B character, only really being fleshed out in Faraday's episode and Iliana is a non-entity, too much of a mystery still. The rest are all dead, with the popular ones all having died ages ago.
So not too many options, and that's with the men outnumbering the women by more than 2:1 on the initial poll.
