Favorite 'Little' Moments Of DS9...

DS9 was the master of the little moments. Some that I loved

  1. Garek and Bashiers first lunch in Past Prolonge
  2. The root beer scene
  3. Quark talking about being a people person
  4. Jake giving Ben the Willie Mays rookie card and the hug
  5. Jadzia having to rearrange Odo's furniture
  6. The Jadzia and Kira shuttle "with your eyes liutenant" scene
  7. Kira and Ben in Starship down
Thats just to name a few. DS9 wrote these characters really really well.

Nog: "Disposal is spelled with an 'i'."

Bashir having to remind Jake his name is spelled with an 'i'.

Ben telling Jake his story is good, but his spelling is terrible.

I found this little gag throughout the series to be hilarious, particularly since he is a writer.
I thought that too because in “The Nagus” it was Jake that taught Nog how to read.

That is another one of my favorite moments.

In "Shattered Mirror" when Quark and Odo see Jake missing Nog. Quark says that friends will just up and leave you, so you're better off without them, to which Odo replies, "Hmf. I imagine that's why you don't have any friends."

Kira and Bashir talking about Trill customs at Quark's in rejoined. There's nothing special about the dialogue. Rather the shot is beautiful. The camera, positioned on the promenade, catches the two in the entryway in silhouette, Kira leaning against the wall, Bashir standing in front of her. They look stunning. It's almost a shame that the shot wasn't used for Dax and Lenara.

Kira ragging on Bashir because she's pregnant (can't remember the ep) saying, this is all your fault, which is funny because in RL, yeah, it is :guffaw:

"I'd rather blame you!" Yes, that was hilarious if you know the backstory, but it works as a line even if you don't.

I loved the interactions between the Chief and Nog in Treachery, Faith and the Great River. In need of a graviton stabilizer, Nog asks the Chief to let him handle it. The Chief replies 'Don't do anything I wouldn't do'. Nog replies with 'I can't operate under those restrictions'

Later on it turns out Nog had traded the captain's desk for a modulator to be traded for an emitter with the rumor that someone will finally give them the stabilizer.

Chief: You made all these deals based on a rumor? What if it turns out not to be true?
Nog: You got to have faith.
Chief: In a rumor?
Nog: No, In the Great Material Continuum

In the episode "The Sound of Her Voice" :

"Please, stay back. No, don't! No!"
"Captain Cusak, can you hear me? Hello? Hello? God."
"She's gone."
"Who is this? What have you done?"
"I have eaten her."
"What?"
"I've eaten her! What difference does it make to you? You weren't even listening to her!"
- Captain Lisa Cusak impersonates an alien monster to get the attention of Bashir, who, distracted by his work, has been ignoring her

I also liked O'Brien's little speech at the end at Captain Cusak's memorial.

"The Way of the Warrior" The doctor and Garak:

Bashir: They broke seven of your transverse ribs and fractured your clavical.

Garak: Ah, but I got off several cutting remarks which no doubt did serious damage to their egos.

Bashir: Garak, this isn't funny.

Garak: I'm serious, doctor! Thanks to your administrations I'm almost completely healed but the damage I did to them will last a lifetime.

Actually, any episode with Garak and his great lines.

The episode where Kira Garak and Damar are in Mila's basement and Mila is telling Garak about his bad habits as a child--secretiveness and lying--and says "who would have thought they'd turn out to be virtues?" The pleased look on Garak's face--he's practically purring.
