From that list, I'd say McDonald's and Subway are the ones I frequent the most, although I don't actually eat their stuff very often. With subs, I'm more partial to Mr. Sub, which I believe may just be a Canadian franchise.

As for McDonald's, although I don't go there very often, I've made it a very strange (and kind of shameful) goal of mine to eat in a McDonald's in almost every country I visit, mainly to see how the menus differ. So far, I've got Canada, America, France, England, Germany, and Greece. I didn't eat in one when I was in the Netherlands, but, oddly, I did eat in a Burger King there -- it was probably my first time at a BK in almost a decade.
Oh, and if anyone's curious, yes, I also make it a point to sample a wider variety of the local cuisine when I travel. The McDonald's thing is mainly out of curiosity.

Why no Kentucky Fried Chicken on the list? Or A & W? I probably go to those places more than I do any of the others in this poll.

:guffaw: Spent a long time coming up with that name.

We only have five of those listed here - McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King and Subway.

I have only been to McDonalds once and didn't like it, I can take or leave pizza, I have never been to Burger King because the only one I know of is two bus trips away. I don't mind KFC burgers but only have one when my son picks one up on his way home from work. That leaves Subways which I like and eat about once a week.

I also occasionally go to the Souvlaki Hut located near my Mum's.

A McDonalds original small plain hamburger. Remember when it was 15 cents?

1. Blake's Lotaburger (though not exactly fast and sometimes it's hard to order if you don't speak Spanish)
2. Arby's
3. Subway

Since I'm not an American and I don't know most of those places, if I were forced to pick, I'd go with KFC.

Since I can't have Five Guys, I'll take a Whopper w/cheese, plain. Chipotle's ok as well and I remember liking Jack in the Box when I was out west. you really couldn't pay me to eat at the rest of those places though...

I love Five Guys... it's kind of a hangover joint, though. I've never finished a workout and thought, "Damn, what I need is a juicy 2 patty burger with bacon, mayonnaise, pickles and mustard and a bag full of thick fries so greasy that the brown bag will be soaked by the time I get back to the office."

^ Their spicy fries are amazing. One portion could feed 3 or 4 people, I had to throw half of them away and I eat like a pig

They ARE amazing, unfortunately when I'm hungry for five guys they're not open! Five guys should be a full service bar/pool hall open 24 hours... and they should do a breakfast burger and throw a fried egg on it.

First of all, I love how White Castle was left off :guffaw:

I think they are a piece of crap. A coworker at an old job once bought some food from there for lunch one day. I tried the fries. It was GROSS!

I've never gone into a Jack in the Box. I thought it had a Hardee feel to it when I'd pass the one on Mill Avenue in Tempe, AZ. I'd go with Subway:bolian:

I almost added White Castle but... honestly I don't know how anybody eats there. It's like eating at Krispy Kreme.... *shudder*

You know I had never even heard of White Castle until that Harold and Kumar movie a while ago. I never saw it, just the previews, but it was highly confusing to me because I thought they were going to an actual castle somewhere. It was only a few months later that someone pointed out it was a food chain.

It appears that they sell some frozen foods on the west coast but there are no restaurants west of the Mississippi.

For the most part, White Castle is a Midwest chain. New York has some though. I'm glad New England hasn't been ruined by one.

I loved White Castle as a kid.

No Five Guys on the list, so no burger joint gets my vote (though Wendy's is good in a pinch).

I like Popeye's way better than KFC.

I like Chipotle, but Moe's and Qdoba are far better. Moe's has a great salsa bar, and Qdoba's Queso Burrito with steak is my favorite anywhere.

I love Chik-fil-a, too. Great nuggets, and awesome fries!

I hate, hate, HATE Long John Silver's. Too greasy. Captain D's is better, and so is Arthur Treacher if you're lucky enough to be near one. They've gotten so rare...
