With the 50th Anniversary of the Fantastic Four coming up, weigh in on who your favorite member is.

Yeah, I know that there have been others who have technically been part of the team over the years, but this is just about the original 4.

She was a replacement for Ben Grimm for a period in the 80s; the team has had a bunch of replacement members over the years, but they're not really the same as the core four.

I voted for Reed. When written well, his smartest-man-in-the-world character has a lot of interesting facets.

Reed Richards. :mallory: He was always my favorite character and the one I most identified with (which is possibly odd for a kid under ten). I used to wear a blue jersey and put my bathrobe on over it like a lab coat, and stride around with determined purpose as if I were drawn by Jack Kirby. :mallory:

I've always loved Sue Storm. Underrated character and the heart and soul of the family. She is the glue that keeps them all together no matter how far gone Reed goes into his self or the other problems the others have, they all draw on Sue's strength.

That being said my favorite character right now bar none is Val Richards.

As a character, the Thing is my fave so I voted for him. But at its heart, the FF is not the FF without Reed Richards. Without Reed's intellect and crazy inventions, they wouldn't be anything close to what they are.

Reed is definitely the most fascinating character with the most going on.

For sheer fun, The Thing.

I went with Reed, because my uncle, who was a scientist, looked exactly like him!

I seem to recall Medusa was a member for a spell, too.

@Beyond Antares I wouldn't disagree with you about Reed's inventions but he would be no where without his family. Lots of things have proven that over the course of the books history and fairly recently his encounter with the Council of Reed Richardes who have all abandoned their families and have become megalomaniacs with severe god complexes.

Wasn't She-Hulk an honorary member?

She was a fill-in member, temporarily replacing the Thing. Other fill-ins have included Medusa, Crystal, Namorita, Storm, Black Panther, Ant-Man II, She-Thing, and Luke Cage. Honorary members have included Frankie Raye, Franklin, Sub-Mariner, and Wyatt Wingfoot.

^ You're also forgetting Peter who is now an honorary family member. In fact Johnny pretty much stated "you're practically family dude" or something like that in the Brand New Day cross over where he revealed his identity to them.

I don't disagree with you. It's a cliche, but the FF is a family and when Sue Richards is out of the picture, it's not nearly the same. I'm just saying that from a practical 'superheroing' standpoint, the Marvel Universe wouldn't have the same respect for the team if it wasn't for Reed Richard's genius. And the FF wouldn't be near their current status: no flying cars, no baxter buildings, no trips to the negative zone...nothing.
