Thought I'd switch this one up a bit-- which of the seven Christmassy episodes we've had is your favorite?

"The Feast of Steven." It's just so absurd. And then the Doctor breaks the fourth wall and wishes us all a Merry Christmas. :)

I would love to see Feast of Steven, but I understand it's one of the lost episodes. And that sucks so bad. :(

I have to say Runaway Bride, because it introduced Donna. She may have been an annoying character there, but she grew into my all time favorite companion. So it has to be that one.

I voted for "Voyage of the Damned." On my local Public TV station they play the show "Keeping up Appearances" at night two hours before they play classic Doctor Who so it was a real delight for me to see Richard's actor in Doctor Who. (I recently saw him in the Sixth Doctor Davros episode, as well.) He had the best line in the Christmas special: "You can't choose who gets to live and who gets to die, Doctor. If you had that power you'd be a monster." And poor Doctor! He can't save the one person he actually wanted to.

And oh, yeah, the episode's flawed, but I had a lot of fun with it.

"Out of Time". Not "Feast", because I haven't seen it. Not "Graske", because it's not really an episode. The remaining five are all pretty good; however, when I think of Christmas, I don't really think of the Russell T. Davies Action Hour.

(Though I must admit, for being his Action Hour, he does do a pretty good job of including dramatic elements as well.)

^ No one's seen "The Feast of Steven," Andrew. Well, 7.9 million people did, but I suspect few of them are here.

My favorite would probably be "The Runaway Bride," but "Out of Time" is an excellent episode, one of the bright spots of Torchwood's first seasons.

Like so many others, I went for "The Runaway Bride."

I've listened to the narrated audio of "The Feast of Steven." Maybe it works better with the full visual component, but on audio it, like a lot of the goofier late Hartnell stories, comes across like a stiff old man trying to tell a joke.

"The Unquiet Dead" is just so sterile; not even Eccleston, Piper, and Simon Callow can bring it to life.

"The Christmas Invasion" works surprisingly well for a story that sidelines the Doctor for 45 minutes. It's easily my second favorite.

"Attack of the Graske" is a fine game, but the poll says "episode," so...

"Out of Time" is one of the better episodes of Torchwood's first season, but all that really means is that it executes its warmed-over premise well rather than poorly.

"Voyage of the Damned" is the sort of thing I admire rather than enjoy. I can't find anything substantive to complain about, except that its reversal of disaster movie paradigms is not as fresh as it seems to think, but it all feels a bit hollow, without the emotional impact of the other new series Christmas specials.

And then there's "The Runaway Bride." It gets the balance perfect: a big action story, good character arcs for the Doctor and Donna, and great comedy. Donna is exactly the right character to come into the picture right after "Doomsday," and Tate demonstrates the same skill and range that would earn her so much praise in series four. The new series Christmas specials aren't really my favorite type of episode, but regardless of that "The Runaway Bride" is a clear success.

The 1996 TV Movie.

Okay (save for some lingering decs in the park, holly wreaths on front doors) not very Christmassy. But it did have the New Year's Party to end them all.

When gunfire strikes the Seventh Doctor down in the alley, the pillow feathers make it look like it's snowing...

I'll get my frock coat.

I voted The christmas Invasion, 45 minutes of set up but when the 10th Doctor arrives, boy does he arrive!

I really must try ansd catch the Runaway Bride again, I've only ever seen it the once and wasn't that impressed...then again that might be for the same reason I wasn't impressed with VOTD first time around...namely family members nattering over the top of it!

Got to go with "The Unquiet Dead" for first place, because it's got so much emotion in it, thanks mostly to a sterling performance from Simon Callow. And it ties in with A Christmas Carol, one of my favourite Christmas traditions of all time - how could it not be a classic?

Second place is easily "The Christmas Invasion," which is one of the best "new Doctor" stories ever, and is pure magic from the get-go.
