I ended up voting for Coach because he was such a lovely, warm-hearted, if dimwitted character. He was such a good foil for the other characters to bounce off. I did like Woody but he veered off into goofiness.

Sam, Diane, Coach, Carla, Norm, Frasier and Lilith are all my favourites. I love early-years Cheers the most.

I'm surprised there's so little love for Lilith here. I suppose she was only a regular for a couple of series, but she was definitely one of the funniest characters.

I voted for Coach because as well as the brilliant comedy timing, there was a lovely gentleness and sweetness about both the character and actor. Woody was one of the best ever replacement characters in any tv show, but not even he matched Ernie Pantuso.

It'sa tough call narrowing it down to one character. Norm and Cliff were also brilliant - they worked fantastically as a double act or as individuals. Carla was one of the great sitcom grumps, while even recurring characters like John from Melvins or the conman character were more memorable than regulars in many other sitcoms (even if I've forgotten the latter's name!). And I never realised that about Gary and the actors playing him until Aragorn pointed it out.

The Patron Character of Accountants everywhere - what all of us accountants aspire to: sitting around drinking beer and doing a whole lot of nothing.

I watched one the other day where Norm holds the company party at Cheers -a Toga party- and he's the only one to show up in a Toga, all of the other accountants are boring and lifeless no matter what Norm tries to do to liven things up.

Wow! I'm not sure I ever saw that one! I watched this show during it's first run on TV though, so it's been a while.

Still, I'm glad they wrote an accountant as something other than the usual stereotypical boring, pocket-protector wearing nerd.

It's hard to find a fictional character accountant who accountants themselves like more than they like Norm.

He was probably the most likable of the bunch. He had some of the best lines.

Couple of days. Spent most of that time in the decorating/designing of the interior of it. The layout isn't a perfect match of the "real thing" but it's close.

Yeah, I'm now watching through the third season.



- Though I've watched some of season 6 OOS -hence my love for Lilith.
