My all-time favorite band is Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, but God knows when they'll do something as a full band again ... doesn't look like anytime soon. Other favorites include Rush, Fleetwood Mac, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, Soundgarden / Chris Cornell and Cheap Trick.
 
I won't make a huge list, but The Beatles are my absolute favorite band ever. My recent other favorite bands include Cloud Cult, Mumford & Sons, and Iron & Wine. (In other words, I've just discovered the alternative scene. Give me a chance! ;))
