Nor could I. I took a screwdriver to every Rubik's toy I owned.
(I had the 2, 3, and 4-cube-to-a-side versions. If there were any Rubikses that were bigger than that, I bet they took years to solve...)
There was also the "swap the colored stickers" option, but they'd fall off eventually.
My brother was a puzzle freak. He had all those different cubes and pyramid & dodecahedron versions, not to mention a boatload of other types of puzzles from that era.
