Favorit Current Fantasy Shows

Lost Girl, Lost Girl, Lost Girl, Lost Girl!!!!!
I don't meant to be repetitive but I'm absolutely obsessed with Bo & Kenzi! And I just don't understand why everyone else isn't watching this show as obsessively as I am.

That's really the only show that I've seen much of recently.

I enjoyed the 1st season of Game of Thrones but it's too dark for me to really be able to fully get into it.

I've seen Supernatural in fits & starts but I've only gotten as far as mid-Season 2. I want to like it more, especially since so many of my friends are big fans and it obviously has a huge following considering it's lasted this long. But overall, I just find the show to be a bit too humorless. Sam & Dean just don't have the same zip that Bo & Kenzi do. (I also think it's a bad sign that, even after watching half a season, I still have to stop and think about which one is Sam and which one is Dean.)

I recently bought some dirt cheap copies of the 1st 2 seasons of the American version of Being Human. But I haven't watched them yet. My best friend is a big fan, although she was fairly unenthusiastic in her recommendation to me.

Grimm, Once Upon a Time, & The Vampire Diaries are all on my to-do list eventually. I also have a friend who enthusiastically endorses Sleepy Hollow. I might give that one a chance if it sticks around for a while.

I instinctively want to list Doctor Who in this thread, even though I don't think it really qualifies as fantasy (not even as a hybrid). It's just sci-fi that takes its science far less seriously than most sci-fi. But my brain lumps it with all the fantasy that I'm into right now because I'm so dissatisfied with the current state of sci-fi on TV. (I haven't really been happy with TV sci-fi since Stargate Atlantis ended.)

Supernatural humourless? Um, what? That does not compute. I don't suppose you're watching the 1977 BBC series by mistake, are you? Supernatural is crazy, wacky, and completely off the wall.

To be fair, the show develops it's sense of humor over time. As I recall, the first season is pretty grim, no?

Yeah, I certainly haven't yet seen anything that madcap or ingenious in Season 2. Season 2 is just a lot of mini-horror movies. To be fair, some people really like that. I don't.

That all comes from later - Seasons 5 and 8. "Tall Tales" or "Hollywood Babylon" in Season 2 is probably where the goofy, meta episodes start appearing, but it's always a sprinkling of madcap episodes amidst the horribly depressing stuff.

Well, I'm caught up on one of my favorites, thanks to Netflix addin' the third season of Being Human (U.S.) last week.

Just gotta figure out how to get the fourth season and watch it.

Are you in the US? If so, they have both Season 4 episodes up on both Syfy.com (be careful here, the latest episode automatically starts if you go to the full episodes page) and Hulu.
