Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April 3

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

I enjoyed 1, slightly enjoyed 2, hated 3. I just saw 4 and was disappointed. It was certainly the best one since #1 but I was hoping for more. The car chases are so rushed and chopped up in editing it looks completely fake and green screened. Except for the opening gas truck theft which was amazing. Still, it was cool to see Vin Diesel come back.

I'm going to watch it next weekend, I'm especially excited because Vin Diesel is back as Toretto again. I liked the second film because Paul Walker was still in it, but the third film annoyed me because neither were in it, and instead we got this yokle american instead.

For the people who have seen it, is Roman in this film? He's the black guy in the second film (Tyrese Gibson, he's in Transformers as well if you really don't know), I heard he had a cameo of sorts nearer the end of the film.

The only thing to take from the second movie is the FBI taking in Brian. And his preferred car.

The opening scene with the tanker trucks was absurd. When it was over I turned to my buddy and said, "Nothing about that scene made any sense at all!" and they we both said, "But it was cool!"

I mean, here we had a tractor-truck pulling four tanker trailers! That right there generates a big "?!?!?!" then, apparently, the truckjackers' trucks are geared in such a way that they can keep pace with the trailer truck... in reverse!!!. That's right, these trucks can go 60 in reverse!

THEN apparently, this big long mountain road had a long, really steep, grade on it. Not exactly a smart thing to be on when you're pulling a TRAIN of tankers. At the end of this long steep grade? A harsh turn.

Seriously, who laid out this trucker's path? Certainly he didn't know about any of this as he bails out of the truck! But that scene was just so ridiculous it was winking at the audience.

But it was great!

And I didn't even mention the absurdity of Toretto and Lutti driving UNDER the rolling, bouncing, exploding tanker!

It was just nuts! But it was well done, for sure.

Well the way I see it, this is the first proper sequel in the series. I'm currently watching The Fast and The Furious on TV, and on the ad breaks there was one for the 4th film, and it just looked... sort of... right, you know?

Yeah, that's how I felt too. It's the first "real" sequel. There's just something about Diesel.

I need to pop in TF&TF, I have it on DVD.

I loved the original, watched it all last night and mid way through I thought "I'll go to bed now", and I sat on the edge on my seat pratically until the credits were rolling. I see adverts for this next film and it just seems like the natural evolution I suppose is the right word, from the first film.

And I want to say it's because of Diesel, because he has a lot of presence around him, but for me I think it's because 4 of the main original cast are back, which is a big deal. I don't think it would be the same with just Diesel, or just Diesel & Walker.
