Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April 3

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

I haven't watched Tokyo Drift, but supposedly there's a character from that movie who dies but is in this movie.

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

I'll be Netflixing both sequels to prep for this in April. Rumor is that "Left cheek, left cheek" himself from pt.2 is also showing up in this one.

It's been ages since I've seen it; remind me?

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

You mean there are people who don't double-declutch (like Vin Diesel suggests in a modern synchromesh car)? :D

I could go on and on and on.

The double-clutching remark was not nearly as bad as zooming through the rotary engine FD RX-7 and showing pistons. :scream:

Errr, what?

The 'zoom-through' didn't show any pistons at all. It showed the interior of a 20B Mazda rotary engine (albeit one that was spinning in reverse, for some reason) There were no pistons to be seen.

I kinda like Vin as well - the guy has the best voice in Hollywood.

But as much as I enjoy the occasional mindless car chase movie, I'll probably pass on this one. There's really not much more that you can do with this "franchise" that hasn't already been done to death.

Incidentally, one of my favorite car chase sequences in recent years was in "Death Proof," the Tarantino half of the Grindhouse double feature. I was literally gripping my seat for dear life during that scene, as the girl tries to hold onto the hood of the car while it's being chased across Tennessee back roads. Great stuff in a really underappreciated movie.

For those going :wtf:, yes the title is nearly identical to the first installment. All that is missing are the articles, thats "and" & "the" for those who didn't do well school.

I kind of had to laugh here.

You speak too soon. I'm already onboard for the fifth installment and the hook is time travel and Nazis. The Fast and the Fuhrer is our working title right now.

Tyrese Gibson, that was one of his Transformers lines.

Ah, gotcha! Thanks. I quite like his turn in F&F2.

I think they should just have Vin Diesel & Paul Walker shower together for the majority of the film. That would be mucho more entertaining.

The Fast and the Fuhrer

I can see the time travel sequence now. As they are racing in a lightning storm in the town square a bolt of lightning strikes the car just as they fire the nitro canisters. Thus sending the cars back...back to the future.

**was trying to work the clock tower in there somehow**

I haven't seen that movie and I do love car chases. Thanks for the recommendation. My personal favorite car chase scenes were the car chases in Ronin.

Sounds amazing! Will it include tanks decked out with some go-faster stripes?

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

I have been hired to direct the next installment, titled "The Fa5t are Furiou5" and it will be a demolition derby movie

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

The way the titles are going, the next movie will have to be titled "Fast, Furious."

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

I think they should move on, but still follow the laws of diminishing returns and call the next one "Quick and Angry".

Oh, and it's a porno.

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

Saw it Monday night...not great, but better than the last two.

Added bonus, it has Michelle Rodriguez.

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

I am going to wach this film, I loved the first one, and the second was okay, and I thought the third was okay to watch once or twice. But apparently this fourth film is going to be a prequel of sorts, it'll take place before the 3rd film, and after the second film.

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

I'm happy to see Vin back in the saddle and I'll try to catch this one in the theatre.
It opens next weekend in the UK. :D

Re: Fast & Furious, the fourth entry in this franchise now opens April

The first was lame, since I paid matinee price to see it.

The second one was delightfully awful, like a Miami Vice episode written by the staff of Lowrider Monthy. I paid second run price to see it.

There had been cop shows before and after Vice just as there have been a long line of car chase movies. F&F worked for the same reason we tuned in to see Sonny's car and clothes and hear the music and what celebrities would make a cameo. It was the style. The color of the street racers. The last big thing in rap starting his acting career in a bit role. I would rather give this franchise a second chance then try another remake of Gone in 60 Seconds

I thought Tokyo Drift was the best so far, actually - certainly better than the second one.

Looking forward to this one. Pro: director of Tokyo Drift, return of Vin Diesel. Con: Paul Walker.
