Anyone else going to check out the movie? Looks pretty cool. I loved the first movie and didn't bother with the sequels but I'm looking forward to this because the main cast has finally been brought back together. I don't know why it took Universal so long to make a true sequel to the original movie.

Great flick. i thought it was the best of the four. I can't believe no one's posted here yet, as the crowd of the theater I went to was insane! I was almost sold out at 10:00. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the movie as was I. There is no doubt that there will be a Fast and the Furious 5. I already have an idea for the title: Even More Fast and Furious.

Saw it Monday night, and the best thing I can say is that its better than the previous two sequels, especially Tokyo Drift.

The more I think about it, though, the dumber it seems, especially the drug runnin' thing. Wouldn't someone have noticed that after someone goes to work for a guy, that they disappear? One job, and they get killed. How would they keep gettin' drivers? And if they only go for the best drivers, how long 'til they wind up with scrapin' the bottom of the barrel?

I bought the dvd so I can rewatch the first movie. It's been a very long time since I've last seen it. Planning to see this movie on Monday or Tuesday. I'm looking forward to just a fun movie so I don't have huge expectations or anything. Several of my friends have said they enjoyed it so that's good at least.

I have to admit that I've yet to forgive the first film for ripping off 'Point Break', but the vibe on this one seams reasonably positive (for the material) so I may give it a chance.
Plus of course I'm still waiting for Vin to be in another not-crap movie. It's been ages since he was in one of those.

That's what I told my wife. But then as younger man I used to wonder why anybody would work with Sonny Burnett and Rico Cooper when everyone they dealt with ended up being killed by Metro-Dade police.

I really liked the movie. Almost as good as the original.

There was a decent story with Dom and Brian having to work together to take down a bigger bad guy. There was only one real race scene in the movie but there were lots of chase scenes. The finale with the cars and the tunnel was really over the top but entertaining.

Vin Diesel easily got back into the role like it hadn't been 8 years between movies. You know that Dom is not a nice guy but you can't help rooting for him plus he has the coolest lines in the movie. Paul Walker was good along with Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez. Jordana was especially hot.

Nice to hear that the movie is doing well at the boxoffice right now. Universal probably wants to make sure Vin Diesel signs on first before starting on the sequel.

I admire the craft involved, but the movie leaves me profoundly indifferent. After three earlier movies in the series, which have been transmuted into video games, why do we need a fourth one? Oh. I just answered my own question.

Yeah, it's rare anymore I agree with Ebert but he did it.

And, yeah, the movie is pure nonsense but it's still fun and a good way to kill brain cells without breaking laws.

As I said in the other thread the local paper's blurb on it was "Full of action but dialogue is dumb" or similar sentiments.

I read it just thought to myself that it sounded like a perfect movie.

I dunno. This seems like the kind of big, dumb popcorn movie that he tends to like. He actually liked the first three movies. Though he tends to like stupid movies more if they have Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie or Neve Campbell.

I guess Tyrese Gibson (Roman) was too busy appearing in Transformers 2 to be in this.

It was moronic. Justin Lin has proven time and again to be a bad director. The first two showed a love of cars to the point where the cars were more than accessories, they were characters. This had dull vehicles and lazy race/chase sequences. Plus vengence as a motivator of plot has gotten tired. Vin was basically doing A Man Apart again.

Brian is truly the worse cop in cinema history. Jordana brewster wasn't needed.

Worst thing of all is the insane amount of CGI in a car chase movie. Proof once again that Lin lacks the confidence to crash up a bunch of cars, Bay style. The finale chase took place in a cave. A dark, brown computer generated cave.

Awful film but still better than Tokyo Drift. They shouldve gotten Rob Cohen back.

I guess it was the foot chase scene. Brian needed more of an action fix then just racing. The FBI seemed to take him in as an undercover in the street race scene.
