I enjoyed the other movies. This looks like more dumb fun and it has the added bonus of the Rock! :D

So, after several years of competing to waste their talent on progressively lamer movies, Johnson and Diesel decide to call a time-out... by making their latest terrible movie together, without even giving us the pleasure of them teaming up.

Hell, at his rate, maybe Russel Crowe can join in for a cameo.

It looks fun, sure. I've seen the others and own them so I'll see this no doubt. I'm over the series being pre TD. Lets move on, cause I'm fairly certain a Fast 6 is going to happen.

wow, maybe this franchise will eventually rival the Bond series (in quantity anyway)!

The cars sure look a lot different than those in the original. I don't think I saw one gaudy ricer in the bunch.

You know.. i'm all about tearing down bad movies and such but with the F&F series i'ma bit of a hypocrite.

I know they are mostly flash and little substance and i usually don't watch that kind of movies but i like them. They are just style movies.. fast and cool cars, hot women and lots of action.

Sometimes i really want that and F&F delivers it. I'm especially fond of the first one that sets it all up and Toky Drift for its utter coolness (and one of the hottest main actresses i've ever seen) which is also why i squealed in glee when i saw Han in the trailer who is by far one of the best characters to come out of the franchise.. sort of the Yoda of car racing

Nobody ever watched a F&F movie because of the writing or the acting. They're just guilty pleasures that deliver an adrenaline rush, courtesy of high-speed chases with the occasional explosion or stunt.

They're fun, entertaining eye candy, and I'm happy to take that stand. I also actually think Tokyo Drift is the best of the set so far, and I'm glad they're sticking with the team behind that one.

Also good that they brought Vin Diesel back but I do kind of wish they'd forget Paul Walker ever existed.

I agree with everything you said. Which is why I'm disappointed this is yet another pre TD film. I actually liked Black and thought he brought a lot more to the table than Walker.

Looks like they brought everybody back except Ja Rule. I'm in. I do think the Tokyo Drift crew will face the Chuck Cunningham solution

Chuck Cunnigham Syndrome.

Chuck Cunningham syndrome is a phenomenon observed when a regular character in a television series leaves with no explanation, and is never referred to again despite the character's previous importance either to the show or to the other characters. The term has been used since at least as early as 1997.
The term derives from the Chuck Cunningham character from the American series Happy Days (1974-1984). Chuck, the oldest of the three children in the Cunningham family, first appeared in the pilot episode "Love and the Happy Days" (aired as part of the series Love, American Style). However, when Happy Days became its own series, Chuck appeared as a minor character (usually seen on his way to basketball practice). He was written out of the series at the beginning of the second season with the explanation that he was going off to college. After the second season, he was never mentioned again. Subsequent episodes referred to the Cunninghams as having only two children (Richie and Joanie).

I really could care less if we see anyone in particular or wouldn't mind seeing a follow-up. I'm indifferent I suppose. I just want the movies to take place(assuming there is a FF6) post TD.

Five films and two short films... back when The Fast & the Furious was released I would never had guessed it would become a long living franchise.

Guilty pleasure for me, and I should say, they are normally miles above in terms of quality to some of the movies in the same "genre" like Redline (awful in every way), Biker Boyz & Torque (although Torque is really fun to see with the commentary on, and with the notion that it was that ridiculous on purpose).
