Farscape sequel movie in the works!?

Warning, there's a major spoiler for the end of the comic series written by Keith R.A. Decandido and I really wished io9 included a warning because I haven't read the last nine issues yet (considering the trade paperbacks got canned).

I know the hardback versions were discontinued, but I didn't realize they weren't going to finish the series via trade paperback. Fuck. I was going to buy the rest when I had a job again.

No trades? Now that's just dumb!

That must be why they never released digital collections on the Nook or Comixology. They do have all of the individual issues on Comixology though.

I prefer dead tree versions. I strongly prefer trades, which are more durable, than individual issues, but it looks like I won't have a choice here.

Not always. I have a bunch of old Dark Horse Star Wars trades where the binding was so poor that pages are falling out all over the place!

That's very true. There was at least an initial print run of all the issues of the comic series, right? None of it was digital only?

I need to check again, but the time I looked there were 7 trade paperbacks for the series. I only bought the first 3 hardcovers, but I think the trades still got printed eventually.

Mitchell and Vala are absolutely nothing like John and Aeryn. They have absolutely NOTHING in common, apart from actors playing them.

So the answer to your question is a definite no.

I thought Cam Mitchell was nearly the same character as John Crichton - irreverent, wisecracking, pop-culture referencing... on the other hand, Vala was completely different from Aeryn.

io9 posted a follow-up on the story with a quote from Tor about the film's supposed plot. Warning, there's a major spoiler for the end of the comic series written by Keith R.A. If this is true, it's very exciting news although I'm not entirely keen on the supposed synopsis.
Hang on, a small thought: if they canned the trade p/backs, is that because they didn't think there'd be enough sales? And if not enough sales, would there be an audience for new tv/movie?

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed about it. I never got an official word from Amazon on the release, only that they cancelled my pre-order of the second to last release.

I've tried tracking down the individual issues since then but I haven't been very lucky on that count, or at least all of them at one place.

Yeah, I'm almost positive all of the issue came out in print. I don't remember seeing anything about digital exclusives.

I detest agreeing with you, but in this instance I have to admit you're spot-on (for once :p).

Having said that... I, too, will believe this only when I'm actually watching it.

All of the issues were released in print. Had I known the trade paperbacks would be cancelled, I would've looked for the individuals sooner. Alas, it's a lot hard now. :(

You keep saying that so clearly it's been more than once by now. ;)

Only time can tell. I remember many of us were skeptical in regards to "The Peacekeeper Wars" and yet we actually got it and it was amazing.
