Picking up immediately after the events of Farragut Forward, the crew is assigned a critical mission to track down a rogue Starfleet officer who has stolen dangerous radioactive material—powerful enough to be used as a planetary weapon. During their pursuit and attempted apprehension of the suspect, the Farragut is thrust across time and space, landing near Earth in the year 2024. The crew must find a way back to their own era… or risk being stranded in Earth’s past forever.

I finally got round to watching the original "Farragut Forward" only a couple of weeks ago! Looking forward to see this new installment!

I'm usually a big fan of all the Farragut fanfilms...but this one felt like a disappointment to me. I thought it was cute that this episode was a callback to Star Trek IV, but the TNG influence was too overpowering sometimes.

I won't dissect it but there are a few things I want to mention as especially head-scratching:
- near the beginning, was there a point having Carter meeting this other lady Captain in the transporter room before she beams off the ship? I kept expecting her to reappear later on, but that didn't happen.

-Ok, I see the callback to Trek IV by having the female Vulcan wear the coat with the hood on her head to hide her ears...but why didn't she simply untie her long hair when that would be a much simpler bit of camouflage?

-And there were too many dumb attempts at comedy that bombed, for example when Logan on the Farragut bridge is summoned to one of the side stations and orders to have the Chief Engineer to come up, yet he was already on the bridge...all I could say was WTF?

I'll stop there but I really want to love this series again, hoping the next one hits!
