Farpoint 2009?

I was just wondering who else might be at Farpoint. Dear hubby and I are in charge of con security this year. :shifty: :)

Also, I've volunteered to do a regular TrekLit column for the newsletter for the Trek fan club I belong to. STARFLEET: The International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc has a member base of around 3500 people across the globe, so it's a good market to spread the word about books.

Since I got such a good response to my request for help with the journalism project (which didn't end up happening because I dropped the class for various personal reasons) I was hoping that any authors attending Farpoint might be willing to be interviewed. I'll buy the first round. :)

I keep getting asked at Shore Leave if I'm interested in attending Farpoint, and then.....the next Shore Leave rolls around :D

lol... I'm sure I'll be looking for interviews come Shore Leave, too. But then there's more authors, and y'all will take me broke buying drinks!

Farpoint is Valentine's Day weekend. Unfortunately, they don't have the budget and connections of Shore Leave so I don't know how much comp you'd get if you could come as a guest. I'm on staff and have to pay $20 to get in. I think hubby's free now (either because he's actually ON the committee or because he's a performing guest with Luna-C).

http://www.farpointcon.com/ is the website, for anyone else interested. :)

Sadly, I won't be able to make it to Farpoint. For anyone who does go, could you look up Zorn? He has some apples for me.

TerriO and I will both be there.

Great! I'm planning on doing a "comic books go cosmic" panel in which we'll discuss the Trek comics from IDW, one of which will have a Klingon story by none other than KRAD. And we'll broaden it to take in Doctor Who and a Farscape mini-series, which will also be written by KRAD. (busy guy) :klingon:

I have the worst luck with Farpoint. I email to inquire about being on panels and such and never get a response.

Looking forward to Shore Leave, though. :)

I'm in, and if I'm really, really lucky between now and then, I might be able to make a big announcement. I'm just waiting on approvals right now. :)

I will also have whatever preview chapbooks for my original short fiction are left (after Arisia) with me at the con. If anyone wants a preview, track me down. :)

I can't make Farpoint -- I work in an accounting office, and anything before April 15 is dicey -- but I have my membership to Shore Leave!

For a second, I though this was gonna be about a new novel detailing the replacement Farpoint Station built after the original went all floatey-like...

Well, I always did want to be a Starfleet Engineer. (But I'm sure no one really wants to hear the true story about how Star Trek made me a rocket scientist...)

Really, they just missed an opportunity to build a floating station. ;)
