Farmer tells Rihanna 'get orf moi laaaaand!'

i think the farmer's got a point. a woman can be sexy without flashing her undies about the place. and since she's a singer, surely the relevant bit is her singing ability, not what her bod looks like.

or is she such a shit singer she needs to distract people with the sexy?

Umbrella was ages ago. How is Rhianna still famous?

Because singers don't release one song.

Heard Don't Stop The Music? Disturbia? Rude Boy? Only Girl? What's My Name? S&M?

All have been huge. Umbrella was only the beginning.

She's on her 6th studio album in 6 years, she keeps churning out hit after hit, her new song (We Found Love) is, like all her lead singles, quite different to what has gone before.

As far as hit potential goes, she's arguably the biggest popstar on the planet right now. For my part, I've loved everything that she's turned out and wish her a long and successful career.

As for that farmer, why can't Rihanna come to a field near me? I wouldn't tell her to pull her top up (which is not the only reason I like her, but  anyway) . ;)

(and as a side note, they're probably editing up the field shots a la 'Only Girl' video, I can't see them literally having a video of Rihanna dancing around in an Irish field)

And Scarlett Johansson didn't need to keep the top of her catsuit unzipped while kicking ass in Iron Man 2, but by god, that was an excellent costuming decision. :techman:

Most pop singers these days aren't just singers, they're performers as well, and in Rihanna's case that means dancing around a chilly, windy field in Northern Ireland in a bikini. I can't say that it's my kind of thing when it comes to music, but my favourite song was released a year before I was even born, so my tastes probably don't match those of most men my age.

No.

Wow.

Then, I suspect it's not your type of music, but seriously? I also suspect that unless you just don't listen to radio at all, you've heard one of those without knowing what it is.

I've heard a few of them, and know them, but only through osmosis. And I'm a 22 year old. I just have little to no interest in current "pop" music whatsoever.

*goes back to listening to his vast collection of 80s cheese*

Having said that though, Rhianna is pretty hot.

And I do like one song of hers:

I'm 31 and don't know any of those bands, either, though that may be due to the fact that I don't listen to the radio. :ouch:

That's not unusual. I know many people who are pop fans, I know many people who are indie fans, I know many people your age who just aren't interested in the charts. Everyone makes their own choices in music, it's just these songs are so popular, I'm sort of expecting that most people have heard them to some degree, whether it's in the club or on the radio or whatever.

As for that song, I like it, but Lonely Island have made better (I Just Had Sex and Jack Sparrow, due to being a lot funnier and better flow). I did smile at the performance throughout, though.

I'm 31 and don't know any of those bands, either, though that may be due to the fact that I don't listen to the radio. :ouch:

Bands? You mean songs, right? And for the record, I am a little surprised, J. I mean, those hits aren't necessarily her best, but Rihanna has some great songs in her back catalogue.

Because this topic has given me an excuse to, here is the song that she was filming the video for:

Yeah, I wasn't paying attention. I know few Rihanna songs. I just think she's pretty. :adore:

Now that is something we can definitely agree on. :techman: :adore:

This could all have been avoided, of course, if the farmer hadn't agreed to the use of his property by strangers without asking for some information about who they were and exactly what they'd be doing

I could stoop to stereotypes and suggest that it was a battle between his tightfistedness and upright morality that the latter won.

I can't say that it's my kind of thing when it comes to music, but my favourite song was released a year before I was even born, so my tastes probably don't match those of most men my age.

Ditto, as a kid I got to liking prog rock Dad had heard live when he had only just met Mum.

^ I'm pretty sure Jews never denounced line-dancing for being too raunchy, as did the Free Ps!

Line Dancing is Republiian/southern/Catholic/etc Irish culture, so multipy unacceptable to an old style Ulster Unionist (though personally, I'd rule it out on the grounds because Michael Flatley turned it into a joke a good 18 years ago...).

Due to my hatred of popular pop singers in general, I have to give this farmer a mild pat on the back. *pat pat* But other than that, he was being a bit ridiculous.

No, that's Irish dancing Flat-head does. Line dancing is more of a US country and western thing.
