Fantastic Four reboot-- Casting, Rumors, Pix, ect;

"sigh", somewhere Jack Kirby must be spinning in his grave. According to AICN, this guy Josh Grad is the top pick for Ben Grimm. This guy looks nothing like the tough guy from the mean streets of NY that became the Thing. I know for sure that I will be skipping this film next year!

I'm starting to think someone is just trolling fandom now with these casting short lists.

But really. Why not? This guy looks like he could buff up a bit--Ben Grimm was never a tiny guy. Why even make a snap judgment about a character that is most likely going to be CGI most of the film?

If he's not lying, then it is kind of nice that Trank is actually so quick to put down these rumors. That way fan's don't spend forever throwing a fit about it and move on to the next thing to throw a fit about.

You remember how the extreme internet reaction to the leaked Terminator 4 ending made the filmmakers panic and change it? Maybe if there is enough negative feedback on this attempt Fox will start to worry and push it back again and then accidentally run out of time and lose the rights? One can dream, right? :)

Except, in that case, the original ending for Terminator Salvation would have made it a better film.

Respectfully disagree. Skynet "protecting" humanity by wiping it out and remaking it with hybrids and then Marcus taking over as John Connor by wearing his face and killing all the other lead characters isn't my idea of a good Terminator film.

The filmmakers are probably starting all these rumors just so we're more grateful for whatever turd they come up with....

I actually wouldn't be too surprised if someone from Hollywood actually did do that.

I haven't seen the Wolf of Wall Street yet but I just saw a picture of Margot Robbie and she looks like she'd make a good Sue Storm. Of course I have no idea what her acting is like so she could totally suck.

I have some bad news. I write some movie reviews occasionally for a website and they ran a story about the rumours that Reed would get his powers as a kid. The owner of the site got an e-mail from Fox complaining about posting the article that gave the plot away.

Maybe if we all spread that around, they'll be forced to abandon that (crappy, goes against the history) plot. Does Stan have to okay any of this?

He may not even care. Stan is all about being a salesman. As long as he gets paid, it's probably okay with him. I mean, I love The Man, but that's how it is.

There is just too much in the comic-to-film news that has my interest to not be too vested in the FF film at this point.

Cap2 is 60-ish days out
TASM2 is 75-ish days out
XM: DOFP is 90-ish days out

Ant-Man casting underway
AoU is in full pre-production
MoS2/JLA/BvS whatever they call it is casting
Agents of SHIELD just aired a great cliffhanger as we go into Olympic break
Thor Dark World Blu Ray w/All Hail the King Marvel Short is getting buzz(haven't seen it yet)
Agent Carter tv series is seemingly moving ahead.

FF has had a series of delays, Fox let DD go and things just aren't looking all that interesting on the FF front as a Fox production at present.

Shhh...!
TPTB are trying to keep their role in the film a surprise!

Some news from SuperHeroHype.

This bit caught my attention:

The most interesting development about the film is what THR says they've learned about antagonist Doctor Doom, who they say is expected to be the villain once again in the film. Fox is reportedly likely to cast a big name actor in the role, but in a surprising development, they are considering the possibility of switching the character's gender.
