Fantastic 4 reloaded?

Iron Man is also down to Earth and had the hero be a guy with no superpowers fighting a corrupt Company Executive, so he still fits as well. Face it, the audience won't go for something as "out there" as a King of a foreign country or some-such. Which also means no Annihilus, Blastaar, or even friggin Namor.

I can't imagine Namor being anything but a punchline in a live-action movie.

That's just me.

That's the problem of using a character like Namor (and even Silver Surfer). They have deep backgrounds in the comics that really make the character interesting and fan-favorites, but that same background would be difficult to full get across in a two-hour movie. They did it "okay" with the Silver Surfer, but it seemed very much a reader's digest version of it done through talky exposition.

I am not saying that it can't be done; only that it would be a difficult trick to pull off.

This proves, once again, that The Incredibles was the best Fantastic Four movie ever made.

Hard to disagree with this.
Absolutely. I think I probably even mentioned it in this Thread somewhere.

The best way to do FF would be as a period piece. Certain concepts belong in a certain time and place. The Lone Ranger belongs in the Old West, Zorro belongs in Spanish California, Sherlock Holmes belongs in Victorian England, the Shadow belongs in the 1930s. The Fantastic Four belong in the Sunny 60s.

Although they weren't great movies, I liked Fantastic Four. They could be a little too silly but I don't see a need to make the franchise darker. It was never a dark series. Like Superman, they shouldn't go the Batman direction with it. Just come up with better stories.

Whether they reimagine or not, I say keep Chris Evans. He WAS the Human Torch.

In other words, I'm right.

Maybe they will get it right this time. FF is hard to do as a comic book, so I know why it is hard to do as a movie. I like the FF but something is off about the premise. Always has been. I like it none the less but still wish it was better.
What's wrong with premise? Explorers accidently get super powers; media treat them as celebrities.

It's harder to get wrong than right.

The dynamics are off which is why they are always added another character to balance it out. I like the FF but I know it is a problem for the average movie goer.

But what do I know, there are many popular movies based on stuff I thought I knew that I think is garbage but the majority thinks is great.
