Fandom survey (sociodemographics, political leanings, personality)

Might be interesting to add MBTI as a personality factor beyond asking for extraverted or introverted.

I know surveys in the past have shown INTJs and INTPs are greatly overrepresented in Star Trek fans online. Would be really interesting to have that along with political orientation, especially as surveys show INTJ types tend to be very politically pragmatic.

Even then, it seems inevitable that one MBTI classification will have, in general*, more in a particular field of intrigue than the others. That doesn't mean people from the other classifications don't like the show. But of everyone who is whatever classification, what episodes within each classification are we drawn to more than the others? Now there's a fun one that's also free R&D.:guffaw:

* I believe the rule is phrased as "Every rule has that exception. Except this one, probably."

If this involves the game known as "word association", why was my initial thought "bran", followed by "is the captain suffering from constipation? I have a similar look when I endure that malady, but the correlation of the similar pattern may not be due to the same underlying cause."

Really?

Like, I wouldn't be surprised if *NF* types who are progressive activists would be far more likely to enjoy certain more controversial aspects of NuTrek than moderate liberal or centrist *NT* types...

Send it to 2002 and “disappear” Tom Cruise. Without Tom Cruise, he never brings J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci onboard to Paramount to make Mission: Impossible III. And not only does that movie never gets made, neither do the Kelvinverse Star Trek films and all of its spinoff media, any of the Kurtzman era Treks (DIS, PIC, SNW, LD, PRO, Short Treks, upcoming S31 movie), and even impacts how the Star Wars sequel trilogy is made. Since Abrams's work on Star Wars is based on his work with the Kelvinverse films.

Specify. The face is too RASHOMONy.

I might just do my own survey.

1. Date of birth
2. Mother’s maiden name
3. Name of first pet
4. Street you grew up on

:shifty:
You forgot your third grade teacher

I always chuckle when I see that question as an option for a security question. I can't spell her name to save my life- it was long AF.

Done. I had some issues with some of the questions, like who raised you being either Mother or Father. I feel like they both raised me equally.

Mine was Mrs. Beddenwedter. Or that's what all the other kids said...?:whistle:

On the other hand, for survey subjects who had not taken that particular personality questionaire might not feel like taking the time to do so.

I don't even remember who my third grade teacher was. I remember some of my elementary teachers, but probably not all and I could easily get the years mixed up too.

Scrolled through the survey for a few seconds -perhaps I'll fill it in later-, but I think many questions look rather subjective.

For example I grew up in a village of around 25,000 people (that's how it would be called in my country at least). So how to describe that? I've been in countries where that would be considered a decently sized town or even a regional city, and I've been in countries where anything below 1,000,000 or perhaps even 3,000,000 isn't called a 'city'.

Same for political leanings .... what's 'center' in the USA probably would be pretty far to the political right where I live.
