Fan Production Submissions (2)

A few months ago, I noticed that someone had attempted to catalogue some of my team's fan film efforts (some started out as skits) from Australia on the FanLore wiki.

I did some sprucing with images and created a more informative page. Thought you might enjoy these from 1985-1990, and nothing funded by audiences. Sadly, the group members have mostly gone their separate ways. In the 80s, nobody gave much thought to possibilities for sharing our output in magical future-tech ways, and I don't have anyone's permissions to share the VHS copies of what I have.

But please enjoy...

Aww, too bad you can't share any of these.

Since Randy has left the building, or so it seems, I'm going to share the films posted by Potemkin Pictures since his exit.

The last one I see he shared was Diplomatic Relations, a self-contained 8:45 piece.

Since then there were...

Children of Eberus
A landing party of junior officers is dispatched to the surface of the planet Eberus to investigate mysterious attacks on the population from monsters.

Confrontations
Commander Janice Rand, now executive officer aboard the starship Triton to Commodore Alwine, is settling down with her Triton shipmates, some old friends, some new, and some new enemies.

...and finally...

Repercussions (part one)
The U.S.S. Tristan is on a routine mission when they suffer an attack from a delegation aboard the vessel, pushing the Federation on a brink of war. Can cooler heads prevail in such a trying situation?

I watched Repercussions part 2, but, jeez, the middle of the film is a 6.5 minute scene of two characters sitting at a table and talking and talking and talking...followed by another 3.5 minute scene of two characters sitting at a table and talking and talking and talking IN THE SAME PLACE and using essentially the same camera angles. AUGH. Pain.

The Solomon Gamble was better, because at least stuff was happening.

Thanks Maurice, for the posting tip.

One thing that I notice in a lot of fanfilms like this is is how "jumpy" the VFX shots are, as if there are frames missing. My guess is that the framerate being rendered to isn't a perfect match the the live action footage and so the editing software is doing some interpolation and losing frames. I've seen this when 23.98fps footage is intercut with 24.00 fps, for instance.

There is a brand new Star Trek fan production podcast out.

Look up Endless Vigilance in your podcast aps.

Welcome!

A tip: You're likely to get more hits if you point to the actual pages of the show, rather than the homepage of your site. For instance:

Thanks :) I guess I foolishly thought people would search it up on their phones and such. It is much appreciated that you took the time to find the links :)

You're welcome.

When you're trying to build an audience you want the least friction possible for people to get to your work, especially in an environment with a thousand other potential distractions. And, seriously, it's lazy to expect other people to look for something you want to share when you already know exactly where the subject can be found.

I heard rumor Nick's Intrepid was ready to be released today.
I'm off to look elsewhere.
