Fan re-edits of "Trek" episodes: Is this the forum for it?

Hello everyone. I posed this question in the "Fan Productions" sticky thread and Mallory suggested that I start a thread on the subject here. So here goes:

[shameless_plug]
I have been working on and off for the past few years on a re-imagining of the visual effects from the classic Star Trek episode "The Doomsday Machine" (long before CBS Home Video did their "Remastered" episodes in syndication). When I've had new work to post I've announced it on Trek BBS in the Art Forum, but sadly this forum isn't nearly as trafficked as the other fora, and darnit, I've worked hard on this crap and want as many eyeballs on it as possible! :D

So what do you think? Do fan re-edits and re-imaginings of canon Star Trek episodes and movies fall into the "Fan Productions" category?

Oh yeah, one more [shameless_plug]:

Well I'll be watching it regardless, and have been looking forward to it for some time, so I could hardly object. :)

Personally, I'd love it of these kinds of things were available. I've been long interested in viewing Jack Marshall's cut of The Final Frontier/In Thy Image, as well as the Phantom Edits of Epsiodes 1 and 2.

A few years ago, there was noise made about trying to cut together Trek episodes like "Best of Both Worlds" with the scenes from "Emissary"; "Pegasus" with those scenes from "These Are The Voyages..." ; and "The Trouble With Tribbles" spliced with "Trials & Tribble-ations"

Did any of those ever get made?

If re-edits start to get overwhelmingly predominant on this board, I'm sure the mods will open up a new spot for them. For now, though, there's more than enough room for fan films and fan edits. And I'm certainly eager to see how this project pays off!
