Family Guy: TNG cast reunion

its just been on BBC Three.

good lord this season of Family Guy is disappointing generally, but really there was nothing here I did not see in the FOX promos, and nothing that could even compare to the greatness of "Where no fan has gone before"

I am amazed some of the actors even bothered with it, and if they did I hope they were seriously over paid for there trouble.

Maybe Peter was right, it was a Meg episode after all and maybe I should have switched over & watched the Supernatural finale on ITV 2 + 1 again.

For the record I dont hate Meg episodes, and I enjoyed that part of it, as usual all the jokes were carried on far to long (Brian growing at Meg when she tried to take her cross back), and some just totally pointless (the brother of the celeb from the church channel, and even more pointless the lines from his Dad)

I was also very disappointed...did ALL of the characters even get ONE line (other than Picard)?

I was expecting something on the level of Blue Harvest..that fan boys would love it with all the in-jokes.

With all the commercial hype...it's a disappointment on that front.

i'm a born again Christian, and wasn't offended by the Brian & Meg storyline as much as "meh".

Brian's arguments were kind of lame. Can't remember the details now, other than she tells Meg not to listen to what other people say (like televangelists), but he's preaching, and she's receving, in the same way as the evangeslist...just that the gospel, the "good news", is mor elike depressing news.

I don't know how accurately Family Guy portrayed Kirk Cameron, but i doubt it was close, or more than mildly funny (as opposed to Star Wars).

Anyone else?

I thought it was kind of fun. Something like a total spoof of TNG would have been awesome for the fans but does the average Family Guy viewer even remember TNG? I'm guessing not. It wouldn't have made a lot of sense.

They should get the TNG cast back for TNG cartoons* not Family Guy : (

*Actual cartoons not that CG Clone Wars bullshit

The episode was way too short on TNG and it had a preachy message: Christians are book burning dumbasses.

I thought it was very funny even if the TNG crew wasn't in it much.
However, I didn't expect them to be. TNG reunion in cartoon form wasn't going to be the main focus, especially considering the FG goes thru like 3 or 4 topics an ep. anyway.

Best jokes were Geordi's visor showing him everybody was a member of the KKK and Brian labeled a Nazi.

Yep, everyone got a line.

They did consider doing a TWOK inspired Family Guy but Fox told them Trek wasn't popular enough to warrant it.

...or I wonder if FOX discouraged it because it wasn't their property?
We all know how sneaky they can be.

Actually, if you google around for some video of what Kirk's been up too lately, you'll find that the portrayal was pretty accurate... which is quite frightening when you think about it.
