Family Guy: Something Something Something Darkside

I hate Family Guy with a fiery passion these days, but Blue Harvest was a riot, and I expect no less from this installment.

On a somewhat thread-hijacky note I thought the scene in this week's episode where Quagmire told off Brian was priceless.

^ That was indeed awesome. :D

As for the Empire adaptation, I didn't know it would be released on DVD before the airing -- in time for Christmas even! Freakin' sweet! :D

Any word on whether there'll be a deluxe package with goodies as was done with Blue Harvest?

Not the smartest idea FOX has ever had with DVD sales down and this will affect ratings for the TV airing.

They did the same thing with Stewie: The Untold Story, or whatever it was called a few years back. The DVD of that was released September 2005, and it aired May 2006. Didn't seem to hurt there.

On a somewhat thread-hijacky note I thought the scene in this week's episode where Quagmire told off Brian was priceless.

Although the episode itself was pretty average, I have to admit it was worth watching for that scene alone. Quagmire voiced all the frustrations I've had with Brian for the past few years.

The thing that worries me about using the Giant Chicken for Boba Fett is that in the inevitable Family Guy ROTJ episode, they'll probably have Han/Peter and Chicken/Fett go through one of those excruciatingly long, random fight scenes before Peter finally knocks the Chicken into the sarlacc.

are you kidding, i cant WAIT to see a scene like that!!!

(as long as it doesnt break into "didnt you hear? ♫ THE BIRD IS THE WORD♫" :guffaw:

Knowing this, half of it is going to be rushed while the other half is going to be at least decent.

Doubtful, since they've been working on this for a number of years.

Blue Harvest?

Now if they make this into 1:30-2:00 show, I think it'll be fine but it feels like Blue Harvest, they realized they were 45 minutes into the show before they had 15 minutes to end it. There were so many jokes left on the table for the Death Star Attack

I'm looking forward to it but I'm still kind of irritated by the fact that they haven't jumped to the HD format yet. They've got the Cleveland Show in HD but not Family Guy. It just bugs me.
