Fallout: The Television Series

I haven't played any of the games, but after Westworld (Seasons 1 and 2, I haven't seen 3 yet), and Person of Interest, I'm up for anything coming from the Nolan/Joy team.

I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner, actually. I know that at one point, after Fallout 2 had been developed, there was already talk of something like a movie being done, but it never materialized. I think the Fallout universe would make for a good TV setting, particularly in that while being post-apocalyptic, which is something we haven't seen much of in TV, there are vaults/bunkers with people living in them, where unique experiments are being done, with some emerging from these vaults to the world for the first time and what we see is a world that is heavily reliant on 60's look and feel, which could be very interesting to see in a TV series.

I just hope a Fallout TV series remembers to take some of the more ridiculous elements from the series and not be a constantly grim style of post apocalyptic story. Fallout as a series usually did a good job of mixing moments of "this world is completely fucked up" with moments of ridiculousness.

Even though I have grown tired of the "post apocalyptic, dystopian future" stories in general I want to see where this goes. Could be fun if done right. Like TWD meets Z Nation in a radiated wasteland with lots of gunplay.

I played New Vegas and I am a member of the Brotherhood of Steel.

I think it's actually tough to do Fallout right. It needs to maintain a somewhat serious tone with a touch of 50s futurism and modern world satire without going into full on camp. Pretty tough to pull off. Probably easier to go full on comedy or full on grimdark future world.

As long as a Vault Dweller walks into a bathroom and finds a skeleton next to a box of Blamco Mac and Cheese with a ladle in the toilet bowl I'm on board.

And Sugar Bombs.

There's a lot more set leak pictures out there. The Vaults and Power Armour at least are going for the Fallout 4/76 style.

That's looking pretty amazing. The budget looks to be pretty big for this one for all the attention to detail that they're putting in.

This looks like it's using more stuff from the last two games: Fallout 76 and Fallout 4.

Agreed. I’m not interested in watching “The Road” in the Fallout universe. I’d like a wry sense of humor, but not one that’s overdone. The Fallout world is pretty bleak, but there’s also the sense that, slim as it is, the human race will survive.

Been awhile since I’ve played the Fallout games, but the overall vibe reminded me of those old Zork text games in that *most* of the humor came from the things like documents and things found in the world while the actual adventure could be fairly serious and straightforward.

How that translates to the screen remains to be seen.
