It's possible, I guess. For some reason he attacked and killed me when I came out of Raven Rock. It didn't happen after a reload though ...

between the gatling laser I picked up and my missile launcher he wasn't so bad

well I beat it last night, but for some reason my computer won't play the video correctly . . . I guess it doesn't like Bink :(

You probable did like I did the first time and put a cap in his ass before you realized who he was.

yeah after fighting tall green things for a good long while it's an easy mistake to make . . . I'm gonna take my sweet time on my next play through

I did the same with that Uncle Joe (I think was his name).
I don't if he would have been any use.

I pretty much stayed on the main quest line so I didn't come across any of the other recruitable characters

I'm pretty sure he was the first to attack ... Probably another random bug in the game.

Plan on buying it tomorrow. they need to make a fallout movie. Tony SHaloub co uld play a OCD mutant bad guy:)

After I finish my (shameful) run through Bioshock, it's next on my list. I've gotten to play it for a bit a number of times but I have too much on my plate to really give it an honest run through. I'm going to wait a bit and then try again once I've played through a few things. I'm hoping that time is going to be around January or February.

I got this game over Christmas and it is frustrating and fun at the same time. I'm frustrated because it seems like it takes forever for me to kill things in it. I am also in DC looking for the freakin museum to get a dish to put on the washington monument for that radio guy, but so far all I do is run into super mutants. I have no clue where the museum is.

Use the map/compass arrows... or if you haven't located it, just walk around the mall and discover the locations... or in the worst case, just use an online map.

Also, if its too hard in the early levels, just adjust the difficulty.

Well, the DC area is mutants' territory, they are everywhere and usually in large quantities. If you have a difficulty killing them in earlier stages of the game you can a) reduce the difficulty, b) use VATS and try to get headshots or c) just do something else, like completing the Survival Guide quest before you go into the DC area.

In general - side quests or just aimless wandering around the wasteland are much more fun than doing just the main quest.

I'm very late to this thread because I'm still undecided about whether or not to get this game. Last week, my local Target had it on sale for $39 and by the time I decided to pull the trigger they were out of them.

But even now I'm uncertain. So far, I've not been a big fan of RPGs. I tried Oblivion and very quickly felt both overwhelmed and bored with it. I played Mass Effect and while I enjoyed it, it still wasn't my favorite kind of game, and I never did finish it as I had other games to move on to.

But I was trying to be open minded about this and maybe give it shot. Then just yesterday I'm reading some reviews on Amazon that apparently the game is very buggy. A LOT of people were complaining about freezing and other various bugs (talking console version here folks.) I've seen few comments about freezing in this thread and I'm kind of wondering if this is common or just bad luck with the console versions.

I'm Level 16 and 40+ hours into the game on my X-Box 360 and I haven't had any bugs or freezing.
