Do I get credit? ;)

Why is there time travel speculation? I've missed an episode.

No, I might just be looking too far into some of this stuff, but I can't shake the feeling that they are from the future. I mean they seemed to know exactly where to hit, how to convert the technology, and understood human psychology.

very interesting episode

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

THIS is the story we should of had 2 weeks ago instead of the "traitor trading kids" arc. Excellent this week :-)

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

Ricky completely freaks me out.
Seems like the skin around Ben's spikes is already metamorphosing into lizard like skin.
This show keeps me guessing week to week. I just hope the writers have a focus, and it doesn't get lame.

man those tall one's scare the shizznit out me, when the one was looking through the peep hole

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

Solid episode. I've been steadily impressed with this show, and it threw a curveball last night with the new aliens. I wonder if they are the ones in the mecha suits, or if the mechas are robots? In any event it's a nice wrinkle. This show is hitting the notes that I wish the recent V had.

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

the mechs seem to be just mechs, given the scraps of them they have on hand

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

These threads figured this all out from that clue from the think tank in the first episode.

Nice but "yawn".

One thing I'm really feeling is that this is Pope TV. It must beby accident that he's coming off as a hero (albeit a rapist hero.) and Noah is just a whiny bitch.

Hells, even his kids are doing stuff.

Moon is all good. Furthering their understanding of the enemy.

You know they could have been in hiding taking kids for years before they showed themselves, turning them into skitter armies... But another species is more likely, surely?

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

Pope suddenly turning into bomb maker supreme, as well as temperamental chef supreme and skitter killer supreme and bad ass supreme is getting to be way too much. It's purest Wisconsin cheddar.

Ann appears to be leaping to the conclusion that the skitters were children, which doesn't make any sense by the timeline as I understand it. Worse, it doesn't make any sense that the bipedal bosses make bipedal mechs but cultivate six legged organic zombies?

The show has done the character writing but now it's time for the plot to support the serialization. Frankly, the confirmation that the alien program is human extermination is a huge mistake, given the suggestion that harnesses can metamorphize human beings. Anyone with that command of an alien (to them) biology can whip up some nice, neat biowarfare weapons. And given that there's no other way to see skitters as transformed humans, biowarfare is exactly what the aliens are all about.

In other words, the show is not ramping up, but trembling on the edge of a precipice. It's not looking good.

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

The Skitters were not humans, it was just shown they have a harness. the question is, why is the harness inside them? it could be that the only way they can work with the skitters biology (most likly the case) or that there is a lot of external mutation that eventially covered the harness.

...and Mechs have no one inside them because several have been blow up and there have been no life forms in them.

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

So, are the aliens hiding any kids that have started to show visible mutations?

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

Bens skin is hardening around then nodules.

Moon was stabbing him with a scalpel and he didn't notice.

The skitters act like parents. Kids don't act like parents.

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

^The skitters are older?

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

Very interesting. It's hard to believe that the kids will metamorphose into Skitters, but there's some kind of transformation going on. And the new Skinnies are creepy, especially that Peeping Tom. And now that they've confirmed the low-tech nature of those constructs, I'm wondering again if the aliens are some kind of refugees with very few resources behind them.

And we still don't know what those structures are. Terraforming stations?

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

Great episode I gave it a 5 just because there was finally a little payoff. The "tall ones" were wild, when they first appeared I literally jumped up out of my chair and yelled HOLY SHIT!:guffaw:

Also RJ, I hadn't thought about terraforming but that's a darn good idea. Maybe that's why they send enslaved races ahead of them. They can tolerate our atmosphere where as the mystery aliens can not.

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

Glad I'm not the only one who jumped out of my chair when the spooky tall guys appeared.
Great to hear Pope use my username when discussing the structure!
The show is getting really interesting. Why would aliens travel all the way here, destroy on a mass scale, then build buildings out of our scrap and even recycle the bullets? I'm wondering if the slicks plow over planets and then leave the skitters do whatever they do with little resources. Now I'm interested in seeing what the warships looked like. I assume they were similar to Mech technology.
Overall, the show's got my interest.

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

Just in time for the conclusion next week?

Re: Falling Skies: "What Hides Beneath" Discussion:Comment **SPOILERS*

Moon's character drew a picture of an Earth Spider, wondering if that's the shape of the harnessed being that got Metamorphed.

The Harness was on the inside. To me, that suggests the Harness grew and the original body gets consumed for energy as it builds it's new body (And it may not look like a Skitter when a Human metamorphs)

Loved the Episode, Pope knowing weapons/explosives also, isn't much of a stretch, IMHO. Nice payoffs, I'm excited for the finale.

ETA: Oh, and I agree, the "Tall and Shinies" are creepy. Perhaps another interpretation of "Greys"?
