"Fallen Star is a home-made sci-fi TV show about a crew of British space adventurers."

The trailer promised a 2021 release date, and I've just about made it!

If you're not aware of my "inspired by Star Trek but isn't really Star Trek" series yet, check out the following YouTube playlist to watch all episodes from the beginning:

It's crazy how long I've been working on these. We filmed parts of this episode ten years ago! It's just taken this long to get them all finished one-by-one, and the last couple of years of a global pandemic didn't help. Still, here we are. The fifth episode of Fallen Star...

In episode 5, "No Place Like Home", the HMS Britannic returns to Earth in a somewhat unconventional manner, amidst a covert alien invasion...

As ever, feedback is welcome. We held a screening a couple of days ago for around 30 people and it got more laughs than any of the previous episodes, so I'm going to go ahead and start calling this The Funny One.

That was pretty cute.

I don't know that it was The Funny One as it seemed about as humorous as the previous entries. :)

The Trek props sort of knocked me out of the story a bit. You've gone so far as to designing and build most of your own everything else. I was expecting something not quite so...recognizable.

These videos have surprisingly few views. Were they posted at different links originally?

Hey fellow TrekBBSers, give the show some love. They're more fun than a lot of fanfilms.. Here's a playlist (link)

If we've learned anything over the past few years it's that it's a lot easier to talk about putting together fan productions than it is to actually get one done. These folks have put together several of them and deserve hella credit for that. Keep going mates!

I think I'm just bad at self-promotion!

Ultimately, we make these for ourselves - but if they get some love from the wider internet, that's a cool bonus.

Might I suggest making a playlist that is just the episodes without the recaps as well?

Duly noted!
I've gone one better and removed the recaps from the current playlist and added them to a new one.

The recaps were quite useful at the premieres, taking place three years apart, but less so in a YouTube playlist, if I take your meaning.

To answer your earlier question, yes the first three episodes have been posted before under different links.
They were re-uploaded in 2018 to update some effects and fix some continuity issues. The first versions had view counts in the hundreds. They're also on Vimeo but I'm no longer keeping that updated.

Episodes 4 and 5 have only been posted once on Youtube but they are also on Facebook... and anyone who knows us has ordered a DVD. :)

The visual effects showreel for this episode is now online:

I've also written a blog post on my personal website about the VFX reel where I go into more detail about the processes involved in putting these shots together.

This will be my last update on episode 5. We are pushing ahead with one more episode (currently in post-production) and there will be a teaser trailer for that released within the next few days.
:)

Episode 6 is still not ready, however we did a little spin-off 'webisode' in the interim, which is now available to watch here:

Unlike our previous full episodes, this was filmed straight through like a stage play or sitcom, with a multi-camera rig. It was very challenging!

Just an update to announce that we have released a final trailer for the final episode, and that it's coming very soon. It's been a crazy, long journey.

Now's a great time to binge watch the previous episodes if anyone hasn't already seen them. ;)
