Fact Files Style Interior Drawings

Anyhoo, I've been wanting to take a crack at something like this in Corel for a while. I was just wondering if they started out with a 3D rendering and prettied it up in Photoshop or Illustrator, or if it was done from scratch in a vector program.
 
Basically, isometric blueprints.

Isometrics, yes. "Blueprints" no.

Isometric, color illustrations.

Anybody know what program was used to do those?

EDIT: Oops - I missed the Illustrator comment.
Are we sure they weren't done in a 3D program? I've done plenty of isos in CorelDraw, but it seems a 3D program would be better for this.

I seem to remember Doug Drexler or Rick Sternbach talking about using Illustrator to do these.
