FaceOff

I think they made a good choice even if Connor didn't produce my favorite final project. I really liked the Hansel and Gretel scene. It was head and shoulders above the rest.

Was the goal to make a diorama/photo-op, or something that could be used for filming? I was distracted by the child hands on the witch's stomach, at how static it was. The mouth was also static, something others have been criticized for this season. The witch could not have interacted in any real way. The same goes for Tate's wolf. That looked like a halloween costume to me, rather than a movie makeup. The mermaid makeup was so.. average. It didn't stand a chance against the others. So I thought they made the right choice by choosing Conor's as the winning makeup.

I'm tempted to say it was more the first option, to see what the contestants could do with having to reinvent the setting and characters. If it were more geared specifically for filming, then I think Tate and Gage would have put forth the proper effort for that.

It was interesting to see Jo and Megan on one team, and even more interesting that it didn't explode. :D

Megan seemed to be a friendly, shy person to be around. She seemed really non confrontational.

Even if Jo had flipped out, I don't see Megan doing anything that would make the situation worse. Jo did not come across well and would not be someone I'd want to work with (not that I'll ever work in this type of field).

My impression was that the Jo/Meghan feud was mostly one-sided. It was all on Jo's side.

(Alas, it appeared Meghan's crush on Conor was equally one-sided.)

I agree with that to some extent, I think Jo made it a bigger issue than she should have. However, I also think there's some validity to some of her criticisms. There were a couple of times where Megan seemed a bit less willing to do enough work to get her concepts to come together the way she wanted. She also seemed to obsess a bit about Conor once she got a crush on him, and it's naturally a bit difficult with the parts we see to really get a clear picture of what was going on.

True, which is why I was careful to throw in words like "appeared." You never know what ended up being cut out.
