Face To Face With An E.T.?

If you had the chance to meet an extra terrestrial...alien from another planet...and it didn't look humanoid...maybe it looked like a giant spider or squid...etc...but it could communicate with you like telepathy or something...

Would you? Would you be scared? What if it wanted to take you to it's world, peacefully...no harm to you intended...would you go, even if the journey took along time, several years?

I would, I would be very scared and right now at this point in my life I would go on the trip...but if things change and I had a family and all...no I wouldn't leave them for along period of time.

I'd only go if it were a paradise planet of hot chicks who need my help to repopulate their world.

Otherwise, no. Especially no Spider planet like you mentioned, if there is such a thing as living hell; that's pretty close to it.

If they were giant spiders I would go, but a planet full of little ones that could be hiding anywhere? I don't think so.

Wouldn't go to a squid planet, bit too drowny for me.

A world that produced an civilization of giant intelligent spiders may not be to our liking, what with a much thicker atmosphere and all.

The only thing more annoying than giant intelligent spiders are Giant Intelligent Friendly Talking Spiders™.

Would you?

For sake of meeting aliens? no.

For of a better life among a superior species? maybe.

If it took a long time? it depends on what the travel vehicle was like.

Would I be scared? if it got to the point of me choosing to go to their planet, then no.

Well, if they are as peaceful for example as the OP claims and intend no harm, then I would likely go and see what can be learned from them.

Meeting an insectoid or a xenomorphic type of alien would quite likely take some getting used to due to their physical appearance.
Let's face it ... the way society portrays most xenomorphic alien types in movies for example makes you think about the disgusting things.
Some getting used to it would likely be in order, but I'd probably go and see what it's like.
Plus if I like it, perhaps decide to stay.

Though, how willing would you get at the sight of a xenomorphic creature that looks like something which came out of your worst nightmares?
Like I said ... would likely take some getting used to.

I'd go with the aliens on one condition: no anal probes. If I so much as see a device that looks like it was designed to be inserted into a human rectum the deal is off.

You know, if the tables were turned (so to speak ) I reckon we'd also be doing the whole anal probe (colonoscopy) thing on them too.

"Next on Fox: Alien Endoscopy."

I can't say for certain that I would go; it's possible that the Aliens or their world could engender such a deep-seated negative response that the thought would be intolerable. But, all other things being equal, the idea of meeting another intelligent life form and visiting a completely alien biosphere and civilization would be pretty close to the ultimate dream for me.

I'm sure the aliens have their own equivalent of bowel prep, Instillagel and midazolam, so there's nothing to worry about.

Depends on the length of journey, but I would probably go. What if they look icky: I'm sure I don't look pretty to them either, but if they are willing to put up with me, I shall at least try and return the courtesy. My biggest problem would be staying for long away from family and friends.

Why? Haven't you ever seen Doctor Who's Planet of the Spiders episode? That looks like a pretty fun place.

I think I would only go if it were part of some sanctioned, well planned inter-species exchange program. I would be a little dubious if an advanced race came all that way and the only thing they wanted on the planet was me.:wtf:
