Well it's been a busy couple of weeks in F1, with first Caterham entering Administration and now Marurissa

This double points stuff looks like a worse and worse idea every day.
Say Rosberg has a DNF next week and then, with a 49 point lead somebody takes Hamilton out in the final race, or his car fails and he loses the Championship by 1 point from there... well, can you imagine?
Even if Rosberg does well next week, there's a good chance that Hamilton will be heading into the final race with a 25+ points lead. This could just be bitter, horrible, disappointment.

Calling the teams stupid for not accepting his plan for the final three races to be double points. Odd I thought most fans were against it, many pundits are against it, perhaps it is not the teams who are idiots.
If we must have double points use a joker system, were by a driver can select the race (before P3) they want to earn double points in. So for example thyear Massa might have played it in Austria whilst Rosberg might have played it at Monaco.

Double points in the last 3 races is better than just one, as it makes it a little less dependent on pure luck, however, no races would be preferred.
Looks like Jensen's future hangs in the balance this weekend, with Vettel confirmed at McLaren, they now have to decide whether to keep an up and coming talent, or show a little loyalty to one of the most popular and talented veterans in the paddock.
I think they'll opt not to cast out Magnusson at such a crucial point in his career, as doing so would probably sabotage his chances at future glory.

Well it won't be long now until the red lights go out and the final race of the 2014 Championship starts and it all comes down to around 200 miles, 55 laps. Who will win out in the end Lewis or Rosberg.
In other news the Red Bulls have been disqualifed from qualifing for an Illegal front wing and have to start from the back. Looks like they are ending the season how they began by having a car found to be in breach of the rules.

Perhaps, but at the end of the day they each had three non-points finishes (so that balanced out), but in terms of mechancal failure I think Lewis had more when you factor in the brake failure in qualification for the German GP and the engine fire in qualification for the Hungarian GP.
But the Championship was won today at the start with Lewis getting what seemed to be a textbook start. At in the advantage of Lewis having fresher starting tyres, first call on the pit stop I don't think Rosberg could have overtaken him in the first round of pit stops, whih means Lewis would have had first call on the second pit stop.

Good for Lewis. He really had a career year in 2014. And Nico kept him honest, too. And, Lewis looks like a genius now for leaving McLaren just as they went in the tank and Merc started winning. I remember how the wonk sportswriters all thought he'd never win another race. HAH!
