I was actually watching the wrong screen there for a minute. :shifty:

Between this and Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, I think this is gonna be a good Christmas season for racing games. Might have to see if I can get that new video card after all.

That's pretty impressive.

Not the graphics.

The fact I saw an overtaking manouevre.

Oh wait, that was only in the game.

So true.

I thought Sony had the F1 license though? Anyway, the game looks great but F1 racing games have always been a bit too hardcore for me.

^ Well the rFactor crowd has already dismissed it as arcade console rubbish, so there's hope yet. Of course, they say that about Gran Turismo too. :shifty:

Now that is impressive.

Sans the water effects it's not quite so impressive, but still perfectly serviceable. They've really nailed the kinesthetics.

Here's a clip from Spa, dry:

I take it that's the PC version running oh some super duper PC setup.
I dunno, you can get in trouble for that sort of thing.

That strange, that day time track does not look as visually impressive as the top one with the weather affects.....i wonder why that is.

There isn't much you can do to satisfy the hardest of the hard-core in any hobby. It's no surprise that GT or F1 doesn't satisfy the kind of person who spent thirty grand building his own simulator in his garage. Same with the MSFS crowd.

I think Microsoft just announced a new FS game, while I'm thinking about it. Yup.

Probably because most weather effects reduce the visual clarity of the image. Look what those rain drops do to the picture, you can barely see shit. The same thing happens IRL, so it's not a discredit to the game, but clear weather is going to allow the opportunity to scrutinize the image to a great degree and your brain is going to notice all of the small stuff.

Gran Turismo was actually completed three years ago, but they've been taking their sweet time applying decals to eighteen versions of the Evo in order to boost the car count.

New trailer:

Nice detail on the front wing at 0:34. :techman:

Apparently they're going pretty heavy on the off-track stuff. 'RPG-lite' as they've described it. We'll see.
