That would be odd to replace Jadzia Dax with a male. It would be odd if the next host after Jadzia was a male. They had to make the next host after Jadzia to be a female.

In my personal judgment the next host after Ezri Dax should be a woman. It would feel a little odd to have a host to be other then a woman.

Dr. Crusher had to deal with a trill host when they were still working out the idea of a trill on TNG. The host was a male, was dating Dr Crusher and he was killed. The next host was a woman, and she came to Dr Crusher and kissed her on the wriste. That was a little weird, but it was just one show. If they are going to do a full season, stay with the female gender.

Why? No that it matters as there's zero chance that we're ever going to see a dax again.

I think we will see a dax again. As I think down the road you will see Star Trek going into the 24th century in a few years. With star trek XI going back with early Kirk and Spock, it begs to use the 24th century to move on.

I do not want to see Ezri Dax die, but I feel we will see a dax. They have to mold into the 24th century some time. With a new dax, it locks them into a foundation to DS9.
