Explanation for French Picard speaking British English?

Mojochi said:
Is it French or British to pronounce schedule with a shh sound?

English. The French usualy speak, you know, French.

It's also English to tend to end words ending in a vowel with an "r" sound (which is why sometimes it sounds like Picard calls Data "Dater".)

As a french I allways said "schedule" with a "sk...", but I honestly don't know why. I searched for similar words in french but I couldn't find a clear rule since for exemple we say "schizophrene" with a "sk..." and "schisme" with a "sh..." (while I say "schizoid" and "schism" with a "sk..." go figure...).
