Excessive Criticism of "STAR TREK VOYAGER"

It is probably tougher to write alien-of-the-week, than to take one concept and spread it out over 13 weeks.
I'm personally not a huge fan of the long story arcs. While I loved the new BSG, if you missed an episode it made it very difficult to watch the next one.

I think a couple of small arcs might have worked, like making the year of hell several episodes instead of just a two part. Also I think that year of hell would have been better as the season finale

I would have liked Year of Hell to have stretched out over several episodes and no reset button. I don't think I would have liked an entire season of it though.

I am complaining about the overuse of the reset button, the angry alien of the week, the lack of continuity. I call that lazy writing.
Well, they were on an epic journey to get home. One would imagine that would quickly take them out of the territory of whatever species they encountered - and they did spend enormous amounts of time on long arcs (The Kazon, The Borg, Species 8472, The Hirogen, among others).

In the first episode they had a great arc of Seska and her sympathisers. I didn't care much for the Kazon but the Seska arc was great.

I think of the Kazon like I do mosquitoes. They have a painful bite and can be dangerous at times but are easily taken out. Overall, though.. usually just annoying.

They weren't always easy to take out, depsite being techonoligcally inferior, they had the numbers and some very large ships. But overall I was quite glad when they were out of their space

You could say the same about you as I posted direct quotes from the episode which you seem to be ignoring.

Whether or not it's a reset it doesn't take away my love of the show, and that is the bottom line for me. I can accept that repairs were made off screen even if there is no talk of it. If the ship is in perfect condition in the next episode that is fine with me. I still love the show. I understand a lot of people don't and that's fine too. It's all opinion. I still love it and love to discuss it.
I agree with you on this. Voyager was always constantly docked and trading at some world or another, we can just assume repairs are ongoing and the replicators are up to the task of making nearly (but not all of) whatever they need if given suffiicent energy. And many repairs don't require an engine shutdown, so they can repair while moving.

And showing repairs all the time in an effort to achieve "verisimiltude" would have been an awful decision, as others have noted. In fact, I DO remember seeing this done on BSG--as I recall in season 4 Adama walked around the Galactica for 2 episodes staring at structural beams and watching paint dry. It was agonizingly boring.

It's amusing that at first the Hirogen were very tall (probably because they didn't plan on using them again) but then when we saw them again they had shrunk to normal heights.

It seemed like in their introduction they were walking on lifts. They had that awkward walk

Though in Prey, still tall...

The first two we saw were much taller than that, probably around seven feet, like the Klingon in Broken Bow, or the one in Gambit part 2, remember?
This one is the same actor who played Worf's brother and Sisko's son. So tall yes, but not VERY tall.

I think Robert Beltran is not tall at all.

Edit: They say Beltran is 6 feet tall! What did I tell you!

Well 6 feet is above average isn't it? My exhusband was 6'1" and he seemed quite tall to me, but maybe I'm just short LOL
