Simon's a nerd's nerd, but yeah, that theory sucks.
Neither do I, because it makes no sense.
He is a writer for the franchise. So, I'm not sure why his opinion is dismissed.
Paramount doesn't embrace it, either. The official divergence point is 2233. Before that the two timelines are the same.He is a writer for the franchise. So, I'm not sure why his opinion is dismissed.

Time travel in Trek generally makes no sense.
Because it was never stated or seen on screen to be the case.He is a writer for the franchise. So, I'm not sure why his opinion is dismissed.
I'd rather go with what is on the screen than what they say.
I think DSC actually said on screen that the divergence point was 2233.
Short of Kelvin always being a separate parallel universe this is the only way its existence makes sense, not just inconsistencies but also when you think too much about how the past has been directly shaped by predestination paradoxes that can no longer occur.Didn't Simon Pegg say that the changes in the timeline went backwards as well as forwards?

It could be an observation area outside of the of the bridge area right behind the viewscreen wall. But it glows like a running light. So its just strange thst it could be an observational windows.
Nope.I don't know if anyone knows the original intent of the viewscreen/window in "The Cage". Maybe @Maurice might have some behind-the-scenes details?
