Evidence of SNW being a possible alternate timeline from TOS

Paramount doesn't embrace it, either. The official divergence point is 2233. Before that the two timelines are the same.

Paramount has never been the brightest bulb in the light bulb factory. I'd rather go with what is on the screen than what they say.

I think DSC actually said on screen that the divergence point was 2233.

I'd wonder why they would even bring it up, then realized I just don't care enough about Discovery to follow up. Besides, I already count that as an alternate timeline.

Didn't Simon Pegg say that the changes in the timeline went backwards as well as forwards?
Short of Kelvin always being a separate parallel universe this is the only way its existence makes sense, not just inconsistencies but also when you think too much about how the past has been directly shaped by predestination paradoxes that can no longer occur.

Shh! Got to watch that kind of talk!

It could be an observation area outside of the of the bridge area right behind the viewscreen wall. But it glows like a running light. So its just strange thst it could be an observational windows.

I don't know if anyone knows the original intent of the viewscreen/window in "The Cage". Maybe @Maurice might have some behind-the-scenes details?
