Everything we know about USS Discovery's interior

The hell are they doing having bridge stations labeled "ops" and "conn"? That's strictly TNG terminology. In the 23rd century, those stations are "navigation" and "helm"!
Or specific to Constitution-class ships?

It'll be interesting to see Engineering. I hope they lifted from Phase II. Since Discovery is newer than the Enterprise but older than the Enterprise-Refit, a modernized-looking version of the Engineering Deck in Phase II is what I'd like to see. Particularly the warp core.

Hopefully now?

No good for me and I'm using Chrome.

We know nothing of the kind.
Well, of course, there's always the possibility of things being different on ships we never saw.

But every time we've ever heard those stations referred to in a 23rd-century story, they've been Nav and Helm, and every time we've ever heard them referred to in a 24th-century story, they've been Ops and Conn.

(It's kinda like the "landing party" vs. "away team" thing. We have no way of proving that it's a fleetwide standard and that alternatives aren't in use, but it's always seemed like a reasonable inference.)

Under the circumstances, it seems silly to assume the creative PTB on DSC had some clever story rationale in mind for renaming those stations in an apparently anachronistic way, when Occam's Razor suggests they were simply careless and screwed up.

I think if you're going planetside it's a landing party. If your going a ship or station it's an away team.
The conn/ops thing bugs me too.

The story rational was the Nav was a pointless station that served no story purpose, hence why the movies promptly moved Chekov to a dedicated tactical station and the Kelvin movies treated it like Ops.

I believe Oso was said to be at ops in a couple of episodes.
In the most recent one, she was ordered to redirect computing resources, which is, like, literally the only thing "ops" is actually supposed to do. It's a useless nonsense station (the officer in charge of directing the ship and crew to do things; isn't that what the captain and first officer are for?) that they invented because they didn't want Data to be a "science officer." At least navigation has a function. There's a lot of shit in space, somebody should probably be keeping track of where it all is and how to get between it (never mind all the fanon about warp speed varying in different parts of the galaxy, so plotting a course requires a little more flair than "point the ship towards the thing you want to be at").

Ops would be a very useful position on a starship. The captain and first officer are responsible for the overall operations of the ship. But they'd need to delegate the day-to-day allocation of resources to a dedicated officer, such things as sensor array time to various departments.

And the captain would need someone to coordinate resource allocation in a crisis, like Owosekun did. The captain can order the re-allocation but he needs someone to execute that order. That's Ops.

But that's just my impromptu woolgathering. YMMV.
