Characters in TNG sure liked to say "some kind of". LOL.

There is some confusion in the thread title, is it "some sort" or "some kind"? :)

I actually meant to write "some kind of" in the title but could not edit my title after posting. But then I realized that the video has both "some kind of" and "some sort of". So I guess it's both. :)

OFF TOPIC WARNING - CAUTION
It's odd that it isn't possible to edit the thread title.

I can edit it if you like, just let me know.

I'm sure it applies to TNG, but since I'm re-watching DS9 now, I'm struck by how many times they pull the "You better take a look at this" trope. I'll have to see if they use "some kind of/some sort of" as well.

Incidentally, the YouTube channel that produced this video also produces "INtakes," which edit bloopers, outtakes, etc. into the episode. It's an interesting thing and each video is only about a minute long. So if you're looking for some sort of distraction, there are worse things out there!

It is surprising how well the bloopers still fit in the episode like here:

And O'Brien has some nice technobabble too.

I'm most surprised there wasn't ANY "Some type of" examples in here. I heard "Some kind of" "Some sort of" & "Some form of" a bunch, but never even once do they say "Type"? That's some kind of oddity lol

There's also the "you'd better get in here [enter rank]".

Lets see, the basics:
- There is some kind of ....
- There is some sort of ....
- You'd better take a look at this
- You'd better get in here [enter character]
- Captain, we're experiencing [enter phenomena or problem]
- We can't transport to that location, the soil / bulkhead contains [enter some weird material] Same with trying to transport back to a ship.
- "Helm, take us out of here." "Sir, that last shot took out our warp engines."
- "Ensign, warp speed." "Sir, we cannot, the area is filled with [enter weird spacey thingy]

What others might there be?
