Ever been in a fist fight?

Oh how this thread has me longing for the good old days... I would gladly suffer a swollen eye or a few broken fingers. :(

Swollen eye? Some broken fingers? You're in a wrestling mecca - they'd love to have you with those needs ;)

Reading replies after mine (mainly Krieg1981) has resurfaced memories that rip apart my defensive record. I punched a guy at a party when I was 15/16 when he got a girl drunk and boasted about how he was going to go take advantage of that.

I should have remembered that as I dated the girl for five years when she found out... and the guy was slightly embarrassed about being taken down by a guy half his size and made some odd claims afterwards.

Many, but none since graduating from high school fortunately. I went to some pretty tough schools with a lot of gangs out in the Inland Empire during junior high and the first couple years of high school, and I was always the tall kid everyone wanted to mess with, so I was in a lot of fights back then. I played a lot of sports, so that always was a source of fighting because your adrenaline is pumping, but those usually were over and done with as soon as the fight broke up. Plus, I had several fights with my dad when I got old enough to fight back, which was always fun.

Fortunately once I went to college everyone had pretty much grown out of that kind of behavior. And I've been able to generally talk or intimidate my way out of fights ever since. At worst there's been some shoving and trash talking that doesn't go anywhere.
Where in the inland Empire?

Rialto Jr. High and Eisenhower High School in Rialto.

Twice, once in primary school, the second time in grammar school. Both times the fight was one of those flailing fists ending in a headlock for both people, the stereotypical sort when there isn't some sort of gang pile on

Third time I was smarter, the fight was one of those arranged affairs where I was dragged into the loos and told I had to fight infront of a gang. I just stood there and quietly reminded my opponent that my parents might have to speak to the School about this and watched him fume while his supports chided him for not attacking me.

California? I didn't know there was an Inland Empire in California. I'm from this Inland Empire.....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inland_Empire_(Pacific_Northwest)

One time, a gang of my friends were prowling the streets, all wearing white t-shirts and dark trousers. A group of jocks decided to get in our faces. So we threw down.

True story.
