Eva Green cast as female lead in Dark Shadows

i've just now made it to Gerard and Daphne haunting David and Hallie. it does feel a bit of a rehash of Quentin and Beth. i guess they wanted to recapture that success. though i will say anytime they show Gerard smiling it creeps me out.

Indeed. Visually, this movie should be great. I hope they are fastidious in the writing department.
 
Looks good, but I don't think anyone has ever thought Burton's films looked bad. Even if you think some look weird, they still look good.

Trailer! Trailer! Why haven't we gotten a trailer yet? This film is out in what 5 months now? We have films a year away having video, why not this?

I got Collection 13 for Christmas, so I will be able to catch up again in 1897 eventually. I finished She-Ra, and I wanted to do X-Men next, but I'm having a Dickens marathon first. Whew. So many shows, so little time! :)
 
no trailer during the Super Bowl but the rumor is we will see it sometime before that date.
 
Something doesn't seem quite right about that photo, between the left and right halves. The portion of the image with Depp looks less like film or a photo than does the portion with Pfeiffer. Is it just my eyes, or is there some other explanation?
 
I see what you're pointing out Neroon...there does seem to be something...off...but then I'm not great at detecting technical flaws in these things. Based on Depp's look in this film, he would make a great Vulcan!
 
It might be something intentional with the lighting, to make his side darker.. like a "key dark" instead of a "key light"? :D
 
Perhaps it's a Photoshop of two similar pictures, to combine the best shots of each actor.
 
I was thinking more like it was some sort of light tracking on Depp, so he either always looks sickly lit or shadowed or something, like he is the only one color saturated or such.

I keep thinking of the LOTR appendices where they do that track to brighten Legolas beside Aragon. Because he is the one who looks darker than the room. Michelle fits in with the colorful tones.

Depp and Pfeiffer are looking pretty awesome in the latest picture to come out. Eva Green has a sort of classic old world look that will go nicely with her role.

Can't wait to see the movie.

Yes, the original had campy and mistakes that made it inadvertently amusing, but to do this like The Brady Bunch movies is the wrong approach. Is this just the bad attempt for the trailer or the entire mood of the movie? Ugh.

not surprised. Eva Green's previous comments about the film being very funny made me nervous. i've read various comments on the IMDB page for the film from people who have seen preview trailers and it does seem DS will be a 'dark comedy'.

i'll wait till i see the trailer to pass judgement, but i have a feeling it's just going to make me grumpy.
 
I saw the link to comicbookmovies.com at the bottom of this article. Someone from that website earlier this month attempted to describe a scene from a supposed "Man of Steel" trailer that was coming (we're not getting a trailer until at least July) . So I don't believe this story at all considering the "source". That being said, I expect some attempt at humour from Burton.
