European intro to HD ST4

Cheapjack

Fleet Captain
Hey, everybody:

Does the bluray version of ST4 have the intro to it? My ordinary DVD does, though the logo is different to the version I saw in a UK theater in 1987.

No, it doesn't. The Blu Ray films are standardised with the US one.

The 4 minute recap of STII/III is very well done and should've been included as a standard resolution extra at the very least. Somebody dropped the ball on that one.

No biggie for some. A major headache for others.

The way it stands, you need to still hang on to the following DVDs...

The Voyage Home, one disc or Special Edition (just for that intro!)

The Motion Picture DE (Which I'm fine with, since there are enough differences that make this package worthwhile.)

The Wrath of Khan DE
The Undiscovered Country DE

There are some high-def stills on the web:

They're the weirdest set of photos I've ever seen. Pin-sharp, but you can't see as much detail on the hairs or faces.

Don't get me wrong, I will buy these DVD's. The films might never come out again in high-def, and they mean a hell of a lot to me.

I had a photo taken with De Kelley in 1986. I had it recoloured a few years ago. It cost £20. Imagine how much it would cost to recolour an entire film, consisting of hundreds of thousands of stills! I hope they do it, the cost may come down, indeed, you may be able to recolour an entire film on your home PC in my lifetime! You can do it now with a photo.

Those stills are strange! Pity about the trailer. Maybe at some point, I will be able to rejoin the two.
