EURO 2012

No great surprise that Russia have taken control of Group A - they'll walk it. Just a matter of who goes through with them. I said Poland before today, I'm going to stick with that, especially considering that Sir Chesney won't be able to fcuk them over in the next couple of matches.

Tommorow sees the group of death kick off and heres my predictions for the 2 matches...

Holland 3-1 Denmark
Germany 2-1 Portugal

As for Group C on sunday...

Ireland 1-1 Croatia
Spain 2-0 Italy

Just read from "Mirror" newspaper that Terry not fit for France game but may be played anyway. Terry is carrying groin and hamstring injuries  yeh Rio clearly is the unfitter of the two.

Netherlands 0 - Denmark 1

I didn't expect that result. The Netherlands seemed to be so much better before the goal while Denmark didn't come off as having a great defense. Apparently, the Dutch offense missed to transform their chances into goals.

I don't understand against teams Holland know they are going to dominate why they play both Van Bommel and De Jong? Holland face Germany next I think which means an early exit for the Dutch  and the winner of Group A (most likely Russia) have a great chance to make it to the semi final like in 2008.

If Portugal makes it as #2 in that group, it will be far from an easy ride for whoever faces them in the next round imo. They are (once again) my dark horse candidate for a great run.

Heh, lots of Germans being pretty happy right now, eh? The ARD reporter had to struggle to hide his glee. ;)

Most likely since we have this silly eternal pissing match with the Dutch. I didn't notice any glee with the TV commentator but then again, I only ever half-listen to what they have to say.

I wouldn't write the Netherlands off by any means, though. Spain lost its first match (I think it was their first) against Switzerland during the last World Cup and then they won the tournament.
In any case, the Netherlands will be especially motivated in their next match against Germany, if that is even possible. ;)

:D

Indeed. A slightly disappointing game by Germany. They weren't very creative and dynamic. A fall back into old times. ;) But it was the first game and that's usually not very good.

It really wouldn't surprise me if there are three teams left on three points in Group B at the end of the round.

Germany will win their remaining fixtures, Holland will beat Portugal, and Portugal will beat Denmark.

All comes down to GD.

The group will be good fun if Holland and Portugal win their next matches. We'd have all teams at 3 points going into the final game of the group stage.

Spain vs. Italy up next. I'm nervous!

I think France are cheating in trying to genetically engineer their players ;)

Nah, we keep him frozen purposely : outside a football field, he is completely stupid, it's better this way.

It's the French version of Captain America's powering machine.

Franck Ribery is Capitaine France!

Watching Italy's match now.

I like how Italy plays, but they certainly have one of the all-time craziest striker duos in Cassano and Balotelli.

Lovely match so far. Two great sides, lots of skill.

Cassano and Balotelli are hilarious but I love watching Pirlo.

No Strikers in the starting 11, what a bone headed decision from Del Bosque. This has 0-0 written all over it, which am sure the Irish will enjoy should they win tonight.
