The opinion on Peck seem to be universally positive. Even from the naysayers. Most that do not like SNW Spock is purely on how he is written/creative reasons. I like both versions for Spock for different reasons personally. My "favorite" would be probably somewhere in between Discovery S2and SNW.Can I say that I like him in DSC S2?
I thought there was an intensity to him that disappeared as we ventured into SNW. Peck is a great guy for sure, no problems with him as an actor.
This. I'm fine with how Peck is playing the part. My quibbles with SNW's Spock are all with the writing. TOS only had Spock lose control of his emotions about once a season ("This Side of Paradise," "Amok Time," and "All Our Yesterdays," as I recall). SNW does it every other episode.I feel like they got the right actor, but they've made him the comic relief.
Its possible Spock’s more Vulcan than a Vulcan pose in TOS is a reaction to his failed relationship with Chapel in SNW.
Both of the above. And his soon-to-fail-without-his-knowing-it relationship with T'Pring. And maybe other things. Let's face it: he's been about as lucky on the romance front as I am (and I have 23 years on the proverbial "40-year-old virgin").And I really hope that they don't forget Leila Kalomi.
