Ethan Peck cast as DSC's Spock

Meh, whatever. He can be made to look the part, that's for sure. So far I like all three of the actors they've cast for The Cage crew, it just all depends on what the Discoverys writers do with them.

And Sarek . . . twice.

And ENTERPRISE brought back T'Pau for at least three episodes.

So nine times in a couple hundred episodes over how many years? While Discovery, with a single (short) season under its belt, has already given us Spock’s secret sister, Super Sarek repeatedly, Amanda, Harry Mudd twice, the Enterprise and now Pike, Spock and Number One.

Hrmmm.

I have a cheaper idea; create new characters. Leave the old ones alone. Wild, I know.
But no, STD must have SPOCK, otherwise people get confused what show they are watching (to be fair, it does look like generic sci-fi most of the time)
I'd love there to be Star Trek without Spock, Pike, Enterprise, Mirror universe, Klingons (thanks STD for ruining them). And how long until we get Kirk? At this point I wouldn't be surprised to learn they are casting him as we speak...

Could have something to do with being set within a decade of Spock's main appearance in Trek, instead of 80+ years either side.

Well looking at supergirl, they cast Tyler ...somethieng or other (to lazy to internet)... in the role of superman for season 2, used him for 3 episodes, he looked good in the part.. so, can cast a wellknown character and not have him be central.

Yes, the most famous and beloved character in the franchise, at a time when he was on the Enteprise, totally going out of their way more than him being on Romulus within distance of the Enterprise D nearly a century later for "some reason".

How many years into TNG’s run were those two episodes?

About the late 2360's, or 70 years after Kirk's death on the Enterprise B. Not when he was on the 1701 herself with it within spitting distance of Discovery after the Cage.

Superman has been played by 11 actors (at least, I haven't checked the article for accuracy). One more or less doesn't exactly matter. And Supergirl is cousin of Superman, everyone knew he is around somewhere. STD does NOT have to be related to Spock or to anything else in the known universe. But they keep using it as a crutch.
